Prayer request

As you all know from writing in my blog that i have struggled from our recent trials and I have found peace and forgiveness.  I am ready to move forward.  Unfortunately I can not say the same for hubby.  Hubby had thought he had found peace but something else happened this week that has hardened his heart.  He is struggling to understand and find that peace again.

Last night we had a talk and the tears and emotions came out and the same hurt that i struggled with has overcome him.

This is not hubby’s blog and i am not going to go into details but what i am asking is that you pray for my husband that God will lead him to find peace and understanding.
I thank you all for reading my journal and following along with me.

2 Peter continued

“Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord”

As i continued to study God also reminded me that there are also false prophets, just as there are false teachers among me.   I feel God touching my heart and telling me to be careful because these false people will bring swift destruction and deny my sovereign Lord.  Many will believe and follow their destructive ways.

I feel God speaking to my heart and saying “Pennie just as my word says.  I spared Noah from the great flood.   I rescued Lot, who was a righteous man, who was distressed from the filthy lives of lawless men (for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard).  I am your Lord and Savior, you have given your heart and soul to me and as my child I ask you to continue to live your life with a pure heart and soul filled with my spirit.  Let my fruits flow out of you so that others may see and my name will be glorified.  I do know how to rescue my children from their trials and hold the unrighteous accountable for the day of judgment, while continuing their punishment.  this is especially true for those who follow corruption and have a sinful nature and despise authority.    These men are like beast, born only to be caught and destroyed.   They have left the straight and narrow way and even though they may now relish in their sinful ways, boast their wages of wickedness.  They mouth empty boastful words and desire lustful sinful human nature.  A man is slave to whatever has mastered him.  Any man who escapes corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in a world of wickedness, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning.  It would have better for them not have known the way of righteousness then to have known it and then turned their backs on the sacred command that was passed on them.

As I finished studying 2 Peter.  I felt God telling me to be on guard so that i may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from my secure position.  That i need to continue to grow in God’s grace and knowledge as he my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  I am to keep my heart and soul pure with the knowledge he has given me in his word.  That his word has given me everything I need to live a life of knowledge and godliness. If i hold fast to his word and my faith in him i will escape the corruption in the world by these false prophets who claim to be godly.

I am to make every effort to keep my heart and soul stead fast to God.  By doing this it will keep me from being ineffective and unproductive in my knowledge of God.  Those who do not do hold fast to God’s word forget to do these things.  They become blind and have forgotten that they have been cleansed from past sins.

God’s word says “Therefore my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure.  For if you do these things, you will never fall, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ”.

I close tonight devotion with “ To my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, i hold fast and to him be the glory both now and forever.  I am so thankful to God who is merciful and loving because i am far from deserving of his mercy he shows upon me.

Another cold morning

Once again i was to bed before 9.30 pm!  I slept so good but i woke up to the noise of the furnace running.  We have 2 electric heaters plus our furnace is running!  Wow it’s one cold morning!   I snapped a picture shot of the weather bug for us.
  Image1
It’s 23 degrees with a wind chill of feeling like 14!  Oh it’s cold outside but inside i looked at the temperature on our thermostat and it reads 68 degrees.  We may need more propane if this cold spell keeps up … grrrr  68 degrees is okay for sleeping temps but when I'm up i prefer 78 degrees!  Yes, you assumed right, i turned the furnace up to 78 degrees!  It won’t take long and it will be nice and warm inside for me to be up and about. If your assuming I'm cold natured .. your correct again.  I didn’t used to be, but anymore my body can not take the cold with my back injury.  It’s weird as most people who suffer with MS can not take heat.  I’m the opposite.  They tell me it’s due to my spinal cord injury and less circulation and most likely there is some arthritis  in my back and as anyone knows who suffers with him .. he doesn’t like damp or cold weather.

In our motor home all the water lines were inside so we didn’t have to worry about them freezing like we do in the 5th wheel.  Our 5th wheel has all the lines ran underneath in the basement so that is why we need to make sure our furnace runs to keep the underneath bays above freezing.  Other then being hooked up to electric we are basically dry camping as we are not hooked up to any water or sewage.   Another disadvantage when it comes to the cold is we have not 1 but 4 slide outs.  They are just not insulated very well.  In our motor home because it had no slide outs if we ran 2 electric heaters it would get so hot in there you were opening windows for cool air.  Not the case in our 5th wheel.  Although our motor home was 30’ with no slide outs and our 5th wheel is 38’ with 4 slide outs.  Major difference in square footage for heating.  We are fortunate that we purchased our home with the extreme arctic package.  It has much more insulation and is easier to heat and cool.  I noticed this morning when i took the dogs outside that several of the campers here at the park have their slide outs pulled in.  We do not have to do that to stay warm.  Even the big fancy looking motor home across the way has their slide out pulled in.

That was something we didn’t pay close attention when we purchased our home.  When our slides are in the living room and kitchen are off limits.  Although we have not found that to be a problem for us.  It gives me an excuse while traveling not to have to cook and do dishes :)

Today we meet a friend over at the Lady Slipper for lunch.  Lady Slipper has the best buffet in the area.  I was so glad to get me a funnel cake!

After several hours of catching up we drove around looking at the RV  Parks in the area for future usage.  We got home around 4.30 pm.  Another camper pulled out today and now there is 4 campers and a van other then the camp host.

It’s suppose to be another cold night so we got the water we would need for the evening.  Hopefully it will be warming up soon.  We are paid up here until Tuesday and then we are not sure what we will be doing.   Depends on Lucy’s vet visit tomorrow.

Studying 1 Peter

I have decided that i am going to try to make 2 different post each day.  One will be our journey in life as we travel around the country seeing God’s beauty.  The other is going to be on my devotional time with Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior.  I know some of my followers are not Christians and so that is why i am separating the Two.   Although i would like for you to read what i write but i am not one to push my religious beliefs on someone else.  I respect your choices in life.

Last night my devotional time was spent reading 1 peter chapters 3 & 4.  God spoke to my heart as i studied these scriptures.  These scriptures were written for how husband and wives should respect and honor each other.  How our beauty should not show on the outside but instead we should have inner beauty.  God spoke to me through these scriptures.  That myself as a Christians should live for God.  That yes I will be judged by others who chose to live for sin.  Even though I will go through turmoil and my life will have distress I should still continue to live as Christ did.  Christ lived for good and not evil.  That the end of time is nearing and I need to be clear minded and self-controlled so that I can pray to our Lord and Savior.  I should use the gift God has given me  to better serve others. I felt God telling me that he will give me the strength i need to continue to serve him.  That I am not to be ashamed of the trials that i have suffered or will suffer in the future.  But that I am to rejoice and be proud that that Satan feels the need to attack me because of my strength and my choice to bear Christ name as I walk close to God by obeying my Lord and Savior.   Joy will overcome me when i see his glory revealed.  Judgment begins with the family of God and if it begins with me, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey God.  It is a hard walk for the righteous, but just think what the outcome is for those who refuse Christ and remain a sinner.  God’s word tells me that as a child of his i should continue to submit myself and be faithful to my creator and continue to do good works for him.

I do not know what lays ahead of me right now.  All i do know is that i will continue my daily walk with my Lord and Savior, my wonderful Savior who more precious then any gold.  My almighty God who is my blessed redeemer.  I will rejoice and be glad to shout to the world as God continues to give me knowledge and strength to fight what ever Satan may throw at me.

We had frost this morning!

We woke up to frost!  Oh it’s one nippy morning.  But the sun is also shining!  Can you believe I went to bed at 9 pm and slept in until 8 am!

The camper in the above picture pulled out this morning.  They were from Alaska.

I took a picture of the frost on the ground, but unfortunately you really can’t see it on the picnic table or the ground.  Around 8.30 am our friend Steve called to remind hubby that he is helping him put brakes on his truck today.  So we got dressed and headed over to Steve’s place.
100_4529
Here is Steve .. I remembered my camera today and he was complaining about his hair and i snapped his picture.  Sorry buddy but i just couldn’t resist.  Although i did post the picture of your beautiful smile .. hugs

Here is hubby hard at work.  Even though we are not doing a church project .. you can still hubby is doing volunteer work by helping out a friend.

After hubby got the front brakes installed (the back brakes were okay and didn’t need replaced) he cleaned up at Steve’s place and then we headed to Hard Rock for their cheap buffet lunch.  Steve insisted on buying us lunch since hubby wouldn’t take any money for the brake job.  We spent several hours visiting and spending time with our good friend.

Then we stopped by another Wal-mart to see if they had hubby’s fur fish game magazine.  He is having withdrawals from it.  No luck.  We came home and spent our evening just relaxing.  Since i didn’t get my morning devotional time in .. I'm going to do it before bed time.  Hope you all are staying warm.  It’s going to be another cold night here .. but we are prepared and it’s nice and warm inside our comfy home.

Meeting up with friends

I went back to bed after i posted to my blog around a little after 5 am and didn’t get up until 8.30 am.
A noise woke the dogs and so it woke me up. I hushed them and got up to see what the problem was and then i heard the noise. Something hit the window. I opened the door and there i saw a dead Cardinal bird. I hated to see that bird lying there. I put on my shoes and picked it up and put it on the table so the dogs wouldn’t get it. I have enjoyed watching the birds at my feeder. Although i found this morning it’s empty and needs refilled.

Oh it’s one chilly, nippy morning. The wind is blowing and wow is it cold!

Hubby didn’t get up until after 9 am! He is usually the one who is early to bed and up early .. hubby is beginning to enjoy retirement life. I’m the one who is late to bed and late out of bed. Hmmmm
I got my laundry sorted. Yes, since were not on full hookups a needed trip to the laundry mat.
Hubby decided to be a good hubby today. Since he wasn’t really into a ladies gtg he decided to be nice and do laundry while I visited with old friends. So we went to the laundry mat and got the laundry going and then i left hubby there and meet friends Jackie and Agnes for lunch at CiCi’s pizza. I hadn’t seen Jackie or Agnes since we left Gulfport in May 09. We had a great visit. Hopefully Jackie will email a copy of the pic and i will post it later. I forgot my camera :(

“Edit .. Jackie sent me the picture”

Hubby called and said the laundry was almost done so we said our good byes. Jackie looks great as she has kept her weight off and lost even more. I can’t say the same. Although i have lost 7 lbs this week. Now if i can keep it off .. although stress isn’t the way i like to lose weight. After i went and helped hubby finish up the laundry we headed for a drive and then to Wal-mart to get some needed supplies.

We got back and to our surprise we have been invaded! This van has been parked down from us since a few days after we arrived. The couple from SC left this morning.

This camper pulled in a few days ago although we haven’t really seen them.
100_4523
Several campers and a motor home pulled in today and i have spoken to one of the campers (5th wheel behind motor home) they are from Canada.

I made Chili for dinner as it’s cold here .. brrr I also baked hubby a choc cake he was craving to go with his ice cream he purchased today. Hubby went out after dinner and unhooked our water hose as it’s suppose to be freezing tonight and tomorrow night. Brrr Old man winter has returned.

Shouting for all to hear .. Jesus is my Lord and Savior!!!!

My schedule is out of whack but i am finding it’s a good schedule.  I have been waking up in the middle of the night and coming downstairs to do my devotional time.  Today’s devotional is 1 Peter.

After studying some verses of Peter I find myself thinking about last week.  When I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior i knew that life would still hold trials for me.  I think of this past week and before that week.  Even though i felt i was strong in my relationship with the Lord i wasn’t being completely obedient to him.

God laid it on my heart to give my testimony but i struggled with doing it.  Each time pastor would ask if someone wanted to give a testimony God would lay it on my heart to do so but i would struggle and each time i would be disobedient to God by not coming forward and doing so.

Let me explain … Yes i know for those who know me it’s hard to believe that a person as myself who never shuts up, I do not have the courage to stand up in a crowd of people and talk, talk.  But it’s true.
I am more of one on one or small group person.  I am not one who feels comfortable getting up in front of people and speaking.  In fact i do not like going up in front of people and it doesn’t matter if it’s to stand, speak or whatever may be the case.  I have never felt comfortable reading in a Sunday school class with other adults.  Yes, i taught Sunday school and Bible School (it was always the smaller children whom i felt comfortable teaching) I was a youth leader.    These things i felt comfortable doing.

I have given my testimony 2 times through out my life in front of a crowd and both times I was obedient to God as he laid it on my heart.

Satan finds things in our lives to use against us, to try to pull us away from our relationship with our heavenly father.  If there is one little hole in our lives that Satan can use to attack he will.  Weather it done by using someone else or ourselves.  Sometimes as Christians we endure trials and tribulations either from our own doing or from Satan’s doing.  We need to remember It’s never from God’s doing (I forgot that this last week).  Because God loves us and he only wants joy, peace and happiness for us.

As you know from my journaling this past week I studied Romans and I going to admit another fault of mine is remembering where to find something i want unless i mark it or write down.  That is why if you open my bible i have lots of little notes and even scriptures marked.  So that i can find things when i need them.  I can remember what i read just not sure where to find it.

Wow … God has me on roll admitting my faults ..Yes i know there is many ..  i will gladly admit any faults because I am after all made of the flesh and i will never be worthy of his grace and mercy.  But God doesn’t require that i am.  He only requires that i repent and accept him as my Lord and Savior and I am proud to shout to the world of internet and all to the world that he is my Lord and Savior!!

Yes I know I have a one track mind and if i get off .. look out .. but I'm blonde after all .. so bear with me.

Anyways … back to my lesson today. I’m not sure where to find this in Romans as i didn’t write it down but i recall it says that “all things works for the good of the glory of God for those he called for his purpose” As i studied 1 Peter some verses grabbed a hold of me.  (1 Peter: 1-9) and I felt God telling me

"even though you have suffered pain and grief  in your heart.  Now rejoice as you endured through  perseverance,  you have renewed faith and strength in me and I have replaced that aching pain in your heart with a heart that is now  full of love, peace  and a great revival.  Give Thanks, Praise and Glory to me your Lord and Savior.  Know that even though you can not see me I am with you every step you take.  As a mother you were there to guide and catch your children.  As my child i am there to do the same for you. Just as you have forgiven those who forsake you.   I also have forgiven you for forsaking me through your hours of pain.   You have reached another goal in your faith and salvation to your soul.  My child you are, more precious then any gold.  Stay true to and hold fast to my words that they may carry you through you daily walk in me.  I love you my child and many great things are ahead of you"

If you do not know Christ let me tell you this.  There is no greater feeling in this world then the feeling that God gives us when we accept him as our Lord and Savior.  There is such a inner peace of joy and happiness.  The day i married my husband, gave birth to my children and yes even the birth of my grandchildren do not begin to compete with the feelings that I have experienced through the loving arms of  Jesus Christ, God my creator.  I can tell you this there is no greater love then the love my heavenly father gives to me.

I hope you have a blessed day and i will post another post of my adventures of today.  God Bless you all and good night.
