Woodworth, LA
I was awake early getting the turkey on to cook and then it was back to bed for a bit. I got back up around 8 AM and just did my usual slow morning routine.
Of course i had to watch the Macy’s Day Parade on TV. Before i knew it was smelling so good in here with the smell of our turkey filling the air. It brought memories of when i was a child and waking to the smell of my mom’s turkey. I spent some time this morning thinking about what i am thankful for .. God has blessed my life so much that there are so many things I'd fill a book.
I also spent some time missing loved ones whom we lost this year. This is my first Thanksgiving without them. My dad is missed and loved by all of us and I'm sure that I am not the only one missing him today. Happy Thanksgiving Dad. Duke, Lucy and Dixie, this is our first Thanksgiving without our beloved babies and they so enjoyed the holidays as they loved that they got people food and special treats. Even though they are no longer with us here on earth, they will always be with us in our hearts and thoughts. Happy Thanksgiving to my babies.
We had a very nice Thanksgiving meal with just the 2 of us and it was nice spending a holiday with the quietness. I didn’t go all out like i do sometimes when i fix a holiday meal. Our meal was turkey, gravy, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, dressing, rolls, pumpkin pie and apple/pear crisp with cool whip. We got our bellies full and the mess cleaned up and then it was football time for hubby and i retired to the bedroom to watch Hallmark. There was a problem though .. my eyes closed on me and a short nap was taken :)
after my short nap me and the dogs spent some time outside enjoying another beautiful day relaxing. Then hubby and i took a ride on the golf cart looking the grounds over. We stopped and strolled the grounds and just enjoyed being with each other. We talked about how our lives how changed through out the years and how grateful we are to be blessed with such a wonderful life. We are so thankful that we have Jesus Christ as the leader of our lives, that we are blessed to travel and explore his beautiful creations and that we can share our love for our Savior with others. Living our lives as full-time RVer’s is wonderful.
My babies are enjoying their thanksgiving meal, they got some turkey and then later in the afternoon they got their bones! Dolly is old and her teeth are in bad shape so she got a soft sausage treat instead of a big bone.
Our evening was spent just relaxing .. hubby enjoyed his football and i enjoyed my Hallmark movies .. It’s been a wonderful day and we’d like to wish your family a Happy Thanksgiving.
May the joy of your heart make your face to shine, and the joy of your face, make all things gay. While blessings of Heaven and earth combine To make each of your days, a Thanksgiving Day.
