Moving slowly

Well I’m still down with my neck and shoulder pain.  I have gotten medication and am on rest only.  We do not have everything done cleaning out the stick home that is now going to be our home.  We are slowly making our way moving into my dad’s home until further notice.  So the task of cleaning out and moving stuff in is going slowly due to my health issues.

The weather has been cold but you all know that esp since I’ve returned.  We did get to see the grand kids on Monday but I was sick and medicated that I slept most of the time they were there.  Which is not like me at all.  I think exhaustion and the fact of all the medication I have been taking for my pain level got the best of me.

My sister had a light stroke today and is in the hospital so if you would pray for her, I’d appreciate it.  Please continue to pray for my family and all the issues we have going on right now.

My brother loaned me a old car he had and hubby has been working on getting it going .. so now I have wheels to drive that isn’t such a beast.  Some point and time we need to get us a car but for now my brother’s will do fine.

We’ve Returned to Illinois

Due to some unexpected family issues we have returned to Illinois.  Our home on wheels is going to be grounded until further notice.  We made a fast trip from Ajo, Az to Carlinville, Il.  The last 800 miles we limped our home on wheels back home with a bent axle and you couldn’t put a piece of paper between the wheels.  God protected and guided us home safely.

When return to below freezing temps reaching in the low double digits and hubby went to winterized our truck as it’s never been in these extreme temps to find oil in our coolant.  Our truck had to be towed off to the truck hospital.

 

After several thousand dollars repair it returned home to 2 days having to be taken back as the digital dash board stopped working.  With that fixed again on Friday our truck became sick again to a bad glow plug and had to be taken back to the truck hospital .. several hundreds dollars later we have it back and we are praying it’s the last of any more major repairs as right now we have much more coming out as we have coming in.

We got our home settled in and winterized for the extreme freezing temps and we made it through our first real test of living in our home with horrible cold temps.  We are nice and warm and all cozy inside to have this the next day.

Yep, Illinois hasn’t experienced much of this but now that we are home .. Look out!!  The poor rental car is buried.

I took these pictures from the door way as I’m not getting out in this weather and of course we’ve had snow several days since we’ve returned home.  Our traveling days have been put on hold until further notice due to some family issues.  Family comes first and so right now our priority is getting our family through the storm we are enduring at this time.

Roo isn’t sure she likes the snow or yet or not.  She plays a bit and then is ready to return to the warmth of her home.

I’m still experiencing neck, shoulder pain radiating in my upper back and causing me headaches and going down my left arm, plus I’m having low back pain due to the climate.  Our truck got to experience snow as well. 

Please pray for our family that God gives us strength, health, guideness and protection to fight this battle ahead of us. I will try blog when I can but right now we are in the process of trying to put together a home in a stick/brick home.

well it’s been a ruff week for me.  I pinched a nerve in my neck and it’s going down my left arm and I can not turn my head.  Plus I’m down in the back so it’s been in bed as much as possible on heating pads and taking med’s to relieve the pain.  Haven’t been able to sleep as laying down makes the neck hurt worse and sitting up makes the low back hurt.

My Valentines Present

I finally got my Valentines present.  I had posted that I ordered something for myself and it finally arrived!

I have been thinking about getting a smart phone for sometime but just couldn’t justifying spending the money and the need.  Well our phone company had a good deal going and for a limited time they had free activation for smart phones.

I bit the bullet and ordered myself one.  I decided on the Samsung Galaxy S 3 .. I like the looks of the white.   Now learning how to use this silly thing is another story.  I’ve been getting frustrated at it, but I am starting to learn how to do a few things with it.  I finally got my ringtones installed and set for my contacts list.  I’m still working with several things.

A Repeat of Yesterday!

It was another late night for me, I didn’t get to sleep until around 3 AM.  I finally gave in and took 2 pain pills and a sleeping pill so I could finally get some rest!  So YES .. I slept in the morning away.  We woke to another cold morning and so staying in bed was the perfect thing to do.  Once I got up and got around I made some home made egg noodles to cook for dinner.  As you know I cooked a turkey yesterday and used the broth and some meat and it made a tasty dinner.  I put a bit of turkey in the frig for sandwiches later and the rest I packaged and put in the freezer. 

Later in the afternoon one of the ladies from the church brought us some home made cinnamon rolls and let me tell you they were still warm and delicious! 

Since it’s been another day of wind and nippy temps, only reached the low 60’s so I spent my entire inside just relaxing this aching back and legs.  When the weather turns bad it affects my spinal injury and then that causes my MS to flare up and that means I do well to even function.  In fact I didn’t get dressed until late in the afternoon and that was only because we wanted to to to the grocery store and purchased some oranges they had on sale and hubby got him another bucket of ice cream.  (It was the last day the sale was on)  The rest of our evening was spent doing absolutely nothing but resting, surfing the web and watching TV.

I did some looking tonight of how long we’ve been in AZ and we’ve been in AZ for 35 days and we’ve only had 10 days of temperatures reaching 70 or more degrees since being here!  Now there is really something wrong with this picture!  Who ever said Arizona is warm in the winter .. flat out lied to me!  I have no suntan and I have not even had shorts on not one time this winter!  Yes, I’ve had my short pants or what ever you call them but they go below the knee. 

I do have some exciting news .. well kind of .. In 2 days it will be V’day and normally hubby and I do not celebrate these holidays but this year I bought myself something.  Although I will not get it until next week .. so you will have to wait until I get it before I spill the beans .. I’m so excited!!

I slept in this morning, well that was until Lexi woke me up to go potty around 10 AM.  It’s a chilly morning and I’m still not feeling well and I just didn’t feel like getting out of my warm bed. 

Hubby took this picture and It looks like Roo didn’t either? .. what a life this dog lives.  She has to have her own pillows and covers and she pushes me over into the middle of the bed.  YES .. she is spoiled rotten!

the other day Michael our friend dropped me off some tangerines and grapefruits.  Look at the size of the grapefruit.  Let me tell you I’ve eaten one of each and they are delicious!  I’m savoring them .. Thanks Michael!!

I haven’t done a thing today other then I did get a load of laundry going, yesterday dishes and I got the turkey going in the roaster.  I had bought several turkey’s while they were on sale around Thanksgiving and this is the last one left.  Today has been a day of not even getting dressed for me.  It’s chilly, the wind is blowing and this evening we had some spitting rain.  I’ve been sitting/laying on a heating pad all day long. 

Since I got the turkey started late, it wasn’t quiet done for a late lunch early dinner, so I made hubby a egg sandwich and I was craving a pancake.  That was dinner.  Once the turkey was done hubby did make him a turkey sandwich.  Looking out our window tonight we saw the sky was red so I sent hubby outside to capture a picture for me.  Isn’t it beautiful?

If you make this picture bigger you will even see the rainbow we had after the spitting of rain.  Although our friend Brian posted on fb a picture of snow coming down in Tucson, AZ!  So glad it was him and not us!

Here is our home all nestled in on a windy and chilly night.  The even has been spent just relaxing.  We discussed some plans for next month but haven’t really set anything for sure yet.  Hope your all staying warm where ever you are.  We’ve got our Mr. Heater going to keep us nice and toasty inside of our comfy home.
