It was a ruff morning as i woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I think this cool weather is getting to me and the Lord knew i needed to get out. Sylvia called and invited us ladies over for venison burgers. Her daughter and family are visiting over the holidays from Virginia. Here is Sylvia with her daughter Carrie.
We had a wonderful visit and finally alittle after 3 pm it was time to head back home. I came home and decided to get some pictures of the building project as i hadn’t done that in a few days because of the cold.
Lots of work going on. They are tearing out some of the concert as the contractors that did the concrete work made some mistakes. Looks like lots of harddd work to me.
The windows are in .. Wow i hadn’t seen these .. looking good.
I love the windows in the front
The tin roofers have been here all week and look .. The church is getting the final parts of the roof.
Happy Summer!!

14 yrs ago today
Wow we woke up to 18 degrees! We left our water dripping so it wouldn’t freeze. They are predicting another cold night tonight and then it’s suppose to warm up. I think today is high of 45 and tomorrow is 50’s and by Thursday it’s suppose to be 70. My flowers are inside .. they are so confused this year as one day their outside and the next inside.
Lucy had a pretty good night until around 7 am and then she was a bit uncomfortable with pain so we got her up, took her potty (she wasn’t happy to go out in the cold) and got her special food and pain med’s down her. She is back in comfy resting spot (her favorite chair). I have to clean as my home is wreck. I haven’t cleaned up Christmas mess as i was lazy all day yesterday.
I finally got my kitchen cleaned up and all the dishes washed.
I even cleaned off this counter so you could see. This is our collect all counter. All the junks finds itself here.
14 yrs ago today my life of pain began .. what a journey it has been .. without God’s grace and strength I could of never endure it all .. for that I am so grateful and thankful to our blessed Savior for all the blessings i have received since that time.

A Cold winter Day
I woke up early as it’s been a ruff night sleep. I think we have both worried about our baby Lucy. I called a little after 7 am to check on her and they said she had a ruff night and was still on heavy pain medication and strong antibiotic fluids for her infection. She had drank a few sips of water but she still wasn’t out of the woods yet. I have to call back later in the afternoon to check on her.
It’s really cold here. I woke up and it was 34 degrees and it’s after lunch and only 35 degrees! Brrr .. were spent the day snuggled inside waiting to hear about our baby.
I called at 2 pm and they said Lucy was doing better and to call back around 5 pm so i did. When i called at 5 pm they said Lucy was doing much better and could go home. So we got dressed and headed to get our baby girl. Here she is all settled and resting at home in her favorite chair next to her daddy.
Here is what her sore tummy looks like. As you can see it’s going to be a chore keeping it clean as her tummy drags the ground when walks.
We got home around 8 pm and were glad to have her home. I spent the rest of the evening looking online at some places to go in Florida. In March we are heading to Florida for a wedding and we have talked about traveling to the Everglades, Keys if we don’t do that area, were thinking to head up toward Daytona Beach (after biker week of course) to Savannah Georgia and then thru the Carolina’s before we head back home to see the grandkids. Who knows where we will end up that is what is great about being full-time we write our plans in Jell-o and they can always be re-written.

Merry Christmas
Leakesville, MS
We'd like to wish our family and friends a Merry Christmas. Let us not forget the true meaning of this day. This is day is for giving presents to those we love or for those who are less fortunate. This is all great but please take time through out your day and remember what the true meaning for this day is …..
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!" ~ Luke 2:11-14
We woke up to rain this morning. I have to admit i’d rather have rain then snow like the north got. I have the turkey in the oven and the ham is in my crock pot. Now i have to get busy and make dressing, gravy, mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes for our Christmas meal. I am humbled and thankful for all that our wonderful Savior has blessed us with. I am enjoying cooking a large meal in my home. Ms. Southwind kitchen served me for many meals but i have to admit i love having the larger kitchen with plenty of counter space. God is so good.
Russell and Connie are in the picture above … I took my Christmas table cloth and poinsetta basket over to decorate the table with. It wasn’t quite big enough but worked. Around a little after 1 pm hubby and I had everything taken to the church and our lunch was ready and our guest had arrived.
Randall and Nancyin above picture .. We had turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, turkey gravy, rolls, fruit salad and a over night salad. For dessert we had pumpkin pies, banana pie cheese cake and pecan pie. Nancy brought the pecan pies .. thanks Nancy. Marvin in picture below . Randall’s wife Janice wasn’t here she had went to her visit her mother at the nursing home a few hours away.
We had a great time and wayyy too much to eat. Connie and Russell left and then Marvin and Nancy as they had evening plans. Randall helped Lenny pack things back to our home and then Randall went back to his RV home next door. I think a nap was calling him. It was time to put things away. Oh no .. small RV frigs are not made for big meal cooking.
When we had walked over to the church it was warm .. when we packed things home it was much colder and the wind was blowing. A cold front has arrived and it feels like Christmas. Hubby and I thought we were going to spend a relaxing evening in the warmth of our cozy home. Well about an later we were finished putting things away and we were going to give the dogs their Christmas dinner treat. Well Lucy wanted no part of it and she has been a bit on the sluggish side lately. This is not Lucy when doesn’t want ham or turkey! About a 1/2 hr later i went to put the dogs outside and Lucy wouldn’t get up so i picked her up and i noticed how bloated and rock hard her tummy was. Immediately we knew something was wrong. I looked up the local vet number and got a recording and some numbers where you could call for emergency. I called one of the numbers and it was called EVETS. As i was on the phone with the vet Lucy started vomiting horribly.
It was over an hour away and off we headed to the Vet ER. We arrived and the vet checked her out. It was decided to do some blood work and her white count was way up, so more blood work was to be done. Her liver, dehydration and other things checked out but Dr. Rick was concerned with the tightness. He felt it was either a blockage or something serious. It was decided that x-ray would be taken. Well when he lifted her to take her to x-ray a horrible looking pus ran out of “her you know what” he sat her down and told us the bad news. Most likely it was some big word but in simple terms her uters had either errupt or was getting ready to and she is full of infection. Dr. Rick went ahead and took the x-ray and it showed her tummy was full of infection. So we discussed our options and of course the dreaded prices. We decided emerency surgery was what we felt was best for her and we would pay the price. We kissed her and told her good by as we went to wait in the waiting room. We prayed and worried as our baby was in surgery. Another vet was coming in as the other vet shift was almost over. Dr. Rick stayed through out the surgery and came and kept us updated. After the surgery was over Dr. Rick left and said they were finishing up as she was full of infection through out her body and so a special antibiotic fluid was being used to wash her insides out with. We finally got to see Lucy and she was still pretty much out of it .. we kissed her and told her good night and headed back home.
It’s been a Christmas we hadn’t expected but were thankful that we were fortunate to catch her sickness as Dr. Rick says most dogs die and as this is a hard diagnose to catch in time. Thank you God for letting our baby be okay. We pray you continue to watch over her.
Night everyone and Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve
I was slow getting around this morning. Since it was almost 11 am we decided not to go to Gulf Shores. Instead we just ended up going Dollar Tree, Wal-mart and the local grocery store. I needed to get stuff to cook tomorrow. Hubby is feeling better and so I decided to cook a Christmas meal and have invited the Rver’s and 2 couples from church who will not be visiting family.
We went out for a late afternoon meal to the Chinese Buffet. Then it was home to put away grocery’s and start getting things ready.
I fixed from scratch and baked 2 pumpkin pies, i made a banana pie and a cheese cake for dessert tomorrow. I then made a fruit salad with pineapple, cool whip and lime jell-o topped with cherries, then i made a over-night salad which consist of lettuce, onion, cauliflower, frozen peas, cheese & bacon. It sits over night and then you fix a dressing to go on it before your ready to serve. We love it and it normally goes over well at potlucks.
After all my cooking it was time to relax and enjoy some quite time with my hubby.
Hope you all have been good and Santa leaves you something special.
Merry Christmas
Happy Birthday Mom
Today is my mom’s birthday. She is no longer living with us. God called her home. I have peace knowing she isn’t suffering anymore. My mom suffered many years with pain.
Mom is now in heaven with her mother/father/sister’s and especially with her baby boy Stephen whom she mourned for years. I’m still grateful that I didn’t have to watch my mother in her final days of pain and suffering. I had spoken with my mom on the phone weeks before she passed and we said our good byes then. I have peace knowing she knew i loved her and that she loved me. Our hearts ache with missing her and mom will always be in our hearts. I know that she has no more suffering and no more pain as God promises. Mom only has tears of joy now and for that i am thankful.
Mom we miss you and love you … Happy Birthday

A Day of Cleaning
Today was spent doing laundry and cleaning. I haven’t really done much picking up things this week and our wonderful home was quite a wreck. I haven’t done much cooking but the dirty dishes were piling up.
Hubby is feeling better but he is still week. The temps are in the high 50’s today. Although i will not complain as 50’s is much better then 20’s.
