Wal-mart cooks dinner

I slept in this morning as it was a really ruff night for me.  I didn’t get to sleep until around 3.30 AM.  My back and leg pain had kicked in and so that means a ruff night of sleeping.  As most people know I very seldom take a nap during the day time even if I haven’t slept for days.  Usually anyone who knows me know that when I sleep during the day it means one of two things … 1..  I’m exhausted and my MS has flared it’s ugly head …  or 2 .. I’m sick.  So just because I have a ruff night sleeping, normally I still do not sleep during the daytime. 

I did sleep in until 9.30 AM today.  Then I didn’t feel to bad when I got up so I went up to the dining hall and helped Penny pan biscuits for Saturday morning breakfast.  Of course I did like 15 mins worth of work as she had it mostly done by the time I got out of bed.  That is what I love about being a volunteer .. I feel useful and I am not expected to work anytime I do not feel like, I work when I want to or am able to do so.  It makes you feel like you are still able to give something back even though you have severe health problems.  After we finished we sat and drank pop and visited.  I enjoy spending time with other people.

After lunch the rain arrived and I mean it really arrived .. it was coming down in bucket full.  It continued to rain on and off all evening and from what the weather says it’s going to continue through out tomorrow as well.  Hubby nor I was in the mood to cook dinner tonight so in between the rain showers we ran into town to Wal-mart and got some fresh fried chicken and since they were out of potato salad we settled for macaroni salad.  Thanks Wal-mart and the best part is there is left overs for another meal

I did do some cleaning this afternoon,  I went through some of our mail that has collected into a huge pile, I now have a large pile that needs burned but it will have to wait for a better day, plus I have more in one of the cabinets that I need to go through.  I also cleaned off our table, counter and the counter the printer sits on .. man where does all that dust come from?  I put away some of my things that I set out to make our home feel comfy, I’m slowly getting into moving mode.  We still have not made any plans but I decided I bet get busy and start packing all this junk away that we have drug out through the last 8 months.  Can you believe it?  We’ve been parked in the same place for 8 months now and boy has the time flew by. 

Tomorrow I plan to start tackling the cabinets one by one and see what I need to pitch and what I need to take to our stick home and what needs to stay in our home on wheels.  It’s amazing how junk oops I mean stuff can accumulate.

Since the Cards did not play well when I watched them the other night, I will not be watching them tonight as I’d like to see them make it to game 7!  So even though I will not be watching … GO CARDS! 

My back is starting to feel the rain effect even though the temps are fairly nice as it’s still in the high 60’s!  It’s going to be a night of curling up and just relaxing on my heating pads. Of course I have to watch the new episode of Duck Dynasty!!   I will be so glad when Halloween is over as I am not a fan of scary or killer movies and here lately that is all my favorite TV stations have had on .. I’m so ready for the Thanksgiving and Christmas movies to start!!

A Peaceful Day

 

i spent the evening curled up on the couch with hubby switching back and forth watching the Cards and Ram and both lost!! First games of the season that i have watched and both were losers!!! Guess i should have went to bed and watched Hallmark .... maybe then they both would of won ....

It’s another overcast day .. I got up this morning and went outside to take a few photos.  It wasn’t a bad morning to be outside.  The temps were not bad at all!  The rain is suppose to move in sometime today and continue through the next few days.

We got a few rain drops right before lunch but nothing that amounted to anything.  The campground is getting empty.  There is just a couple of us left and it’s nice and quiet.  Just the way we enjoy it.  If the weather would stay like this, it would be awesome. 

I just love seeing the leaves all around .. if it wasn’t for my back and leg pain .. Fall would be one of my favorite times of the year!  But when the cooler temps or rain moves in, it causes me lots of back and leg pain and that is not fun at all! 

It’s been a lazy day, in fact I decided it was going to be a PJ day so that is what I did .. I stayed in my PJ’s!  Even when I had company!  After lunch my friend Wanda stopped to see me and I also visited with Penny 2 who lives across from us .. see her lil yellow bug?  It’s adorable and has a flower on the front of it .. so adorable!

Dinner tonight was fried Pork Chops and fried Zucchini .. mmm it was so good .. thanks hubby!  Hubby cooks and I clean up, although I still clean up when I do the cooking .. hmmm I believe there is just something wrong with this picture?

Only a few more days left of October and another month will have went right on by.  I do believe October flew bye.  We still have not made any final plans about what we are going to do .. Are we going to winterize the camper and close it up and move it to our stick home or are we just going to winterize and dry camp and go back and forth between the two?  Decisions, decisions …. we both are torn between what to do .. so far the water is still on and so we feel there is no need to hurry and decide .. until they shut the water off .. we have all of life’s luxary’s in our home on wheels.

Love the fall colors

I love the fall colors and the trees are beautiful! 

I took these the other day and it was overcast and not so sunny out.

The leaves are falling and before long the trees will all be bare. 

The sun came out and the temp warmed up to a pleasant day of sitting outside in the sun.

I took advantage of this gorgeous day and took a drive on the golf cart around the lake to capture the beauty the fall offers here.

I just love this picture of the barn!  It looks like it should be on a post card!

After my afternoon ride I let the dogs off their leashes and chase me.  They loved it and it was good and needed exercise for them.

I spent the rest of afternoon outside enjoying the sunshine until the sun started going down and then it was time to retire inside and start some dinner.

Dinner tonight was beef and rice and macaroni and tomatoes.  It hit the spot and yes, I decided to be a good wife and cook for hubby.  Actually, I accidently opened up a can of tomatoes my mother in law sent home with me that she had canned thinking it was salsa.  So they needed used up and hubby doesn’t like mac & tomatoes so I made the beef and rice for him.

The rest of the evening is being spent curled up relaxing .. hope you had a great day!

Happy Birthday Sis

I want to start this post out with wishing my sister Patty a Happy Birthday!  NO .. I’m going to be nice and your not getting her age out of me!  (Thanks for the bribe oops money sis ) 

We packed things up yesterday morning and headed to our stick home.  Hubby had some things he wanted to do (trapping/hunting) and I spent the day relaxing and watching all the good witch’s episodes.  Yes, I know hubby, I’ve seen them many time but I just love Catherine Bell.  See why it was a good day for him to go out and about and do his own thing and leave me home alone

Later in the evening I made a big pot of chili for dinner.  YES .. I know I normally do not cook, but when your son ask so sweetly for a pot of chili how do you say NO?  Yes, I made a huge pot and left the left overs there with him.  It’s was funny because he came home from work and said he had a date so he wouldn’t be eating with us but before he left he couldn’t resist and had a bowl of mom’s chili   Plus last weekend we were there as well and I made Spaghetti for the grand kids and Tyson insisted his dad bring the left overs to our home on wheels with us

I spent my morning curled up in bed as I wasn’t feeling well.  I started watching TLC ( I haven’t watched it in awhile) and I got hooked on 4 weddings and then a new show called Secret Princes.  I can’t wait til Friday night to see the new episode of it .. 4 men from 4 different country who are Lords, Dukes or whatever move to Austin Texas searching for love and they have to live in a run down home and get jobs and make money to find their dream women.  Should be interesting to see how this plays out. 

We loaded up early afternoon to head to our home on wheels as I still wasn’t feeling very good, in fact I was feeling worse.  We got home just in time as the old stomach bug hit me.  It’s been a day of doing nothing but being in bed.

It’s such a shame to because the sun came out and it felt pleasantly in the sun, I would of rather been able to enjoy the sun but instead I snuggled in my bed.

Oh Baby It Was Cold Last Night!

Oh baby it was cold last night.  Since they were predicting below freezing temps the water was shut off yesterday afternoon to avoid any freezing and breaking of the pipes.  The weather men/women were predicting 27 but look what it was!!

Wow, 24 degrees!!  It’s not suppose to get this cold this early .. it’s still October!! The water hose was definitely frozen!  Hubby had unhooked and drained our hose so that this wouldn’t happen.

NOOO … I didn’t get out of bed in time to see these temps.  I stayed in bed until the temps warmed up into the low 40’s.  I snagged these photo’s from my friend Linda’s facebook since I wasn’t up this early   thanks Linda!!

After lunch we needed to run to Litchfield and the first thing on the list was a new battery for the car.  It’s been dragging and with the cold it really hasn’t wanted to turn over.  Then hubby needed to get some shot gun shells as he is deer hunting this year. 

Some needed groceries and then back home to spend the rest of the evening snuggled up staying warm in our comfy home.  Our son Tyson spent the evening visiting with us and it was nice to have some adult time with him without the grand kids.

Playing Games

Me O My It’s cold!  Old man winter has decided to show himself a bit early and I wish he would go away for awhile.  I spent my entire day all snuggled up in the warmth of my nice and cozy home.  

The volunteers had a pot luck for dinner .. wow we had some awesome food!  Of course I cheated as usual and went to Wally world to purchase some potato salad. 

Afterward stuffing ourselves way to much .. we played some games .. Pegs and Jokers and 13.

Don and Candi are heading out in the morning and so we all said our good byes.  All the other volunteers are departing on Saturday morning.  The campground is getting lonely with winter just around the corner.

Before we knew it .. it was time to head back to the warmth of our homes and retire for the night.

It’s starting to feel like winter!

I sure didn’t want to get out of bed this morning.  It’s was a ruff night for me with a hurting back.  Lots of tossing and turning and not being able to get comfortable.  I woke up to the same back pain.  Unfortunately I had to make myself get up although I have to admit, I didn’t do much other then snuggle in a warm blanket. 

Oh my it’s starting to feel like winter!!  Look at my weather bug and it’s the afternoon!!!  Me O My I sure do wonder how I am ever going to survive these long days of cold temps.

It’s looking like it’s not going to get any better the next few days! Their saying cold and rain which is not a good combination for me!!  I know it will be great being home with the family for both the holidays.  The grand kids are excited about spending both holidays with us.  Hailey was little the last time we were home for Christmas and Toby has only spent one Thanksgiving with us a few years ago.  It’s been 8 years since we’ve been home for Christmas!   Although I have to admit I am not looking forward to the Christmas shopping that we must do this year.  Hailey has already started making her Christmas wish list.  She has already started looking where we can put up the Christmas tree in the house. 

My afternoon was spent lounging around just trying to stay warm. The same with my evening.  I spent the entire day curled up in a blanket reading a book.  Dinner was left over spaghetti that I made Saturday night for dinner.
