the weather has been nice

We seem to go from hot to cool these days .. it was hot and now it’s been cooler and I’ve been sporting a jacket!  It feels like fall although I have to admit it’s wonderful weather to sit outside in my lounger and enjoying reading my books.  I have read several books this summer. 

not sure if this is a good sign or not but my sunflowers are starting to bloom and their going to be beautiful.  I’m sure the birds are going to enjoy them as much as I do!

hubby’s garden has finally taken off and we’ve been getting lots of cucumbers and I’ve put several zucchini and summer squash in the freezer for this winter.  Our tomatoes are late this year and we finally got our first one this past week.  We have lots of green ones but just one that has ripened enough.

There is a good thing to staying put in one place all summer long and that is hubby enjoys his garden.  He missed that part of not having a home that stays in one place .. yet we both yearn for the day when we can start moving around again.  Although we have made commitments to stick around for a year.  So it’s going to be awhile.

more friends

We made some new friends this summer .. Gary and Penny are brother and sister and they have joined our volunteer group.  Penny is just as much fun as me .. my name is spelt Pennie our birthday’s are only a few days apart in July, her’s July 9, 1961 and I’m July 11, 1966 both our last names start with a W and we have so much in common .. look out LWCC you have your hands full now!  I’m Pennie #1 and she is Penny #2

This is Gene sport his urinal but his wife says it’s his kitty litter for when he has go number 2 .. hmmmm 

There is always something going on here in this campground .. just another day at Volunteer Dr campground!

What Volunteers do on their time off?

We had a surprise going away party for one of the volunteer couple here at LWCC.  Bob and Sandy has put in many wonderful years of service  and has finally decided due to health reason to give it up.  We wish you the best as you finish your retirement days out in sunny Florida!

then on another note .. Wanda is always chasing flies (I posted this in another post) we she received a surprise gift

Yep .. a huge swatter and a huge fly that she can see .. she is always complaining the flies need to be bigger so she can see them ……

Enjoying the grand kids!

It’s hard to believe it’s August already!  Where O Where has the summer gone?

 

we have really enjoyed spending lots of time with our grand kids and since the pool was in use with the guest here at LWCC Grammy got out the slip and slid so they get wet on a nice summer day

the kids had a great time and so did Grammy and Papa

It won’t be long and summer will be over and kids will be back in school .. Oh how time flies by …

Land dispute!

Here at the campground there has been a bit of land dispute going on and it’s been effecting our dear friend Wanda.

It was decided that some of her concrete patio was on someone else’s property so it had to be cut off and that meant that her camper had to be pulled off so the big slab of concrete could be removed.  Hubby used his truck and the wonderful workers here at LWCC assisted in all the packing up and putting backk

the work finally began and it didn’t take them long and all was removed and Wanda’s camper pulled out and the big machine was brought in.

of course Wanda, Hailey and I were there to supervise and make sure it was done right

wow this big machine sure is powerful .. didn’t take it long and that huge, heavy big slab of concrete was soon to be no more!

 

there it goes and before long it was time to move it all back

just another day in RV Park.

Wow it’s a Hot one!

Were still at our home on wheels that is parked at the lake.  It’s been one hot week with the temps in the 90’s and the humidity steaming!  Today is unbearable outside.  Even for me who enjoys sitting outside basking in the warmth! 

Although I’m not complaining as I prefer the heat over the cold!  Although I do not like being confined to the AC in our nice and cool home.  I prefer being outside lounging in my chair and reading a good romance book.  Speaking of which I have been on a roll again this week.  I have read 2 books since Monday and I’m starting my 3rd!  I have read about 8 books in the past month and half and last winter I didn’t even get one full book read!  Hmmm .. yep .. I’m enjoying rest and relaxation whenever I can.

It’s looking to be a relaxing weekend with no grand kids and I plan to enjoy it by being lazy and doing nothing but reading a good book.  Hope your all have a great weekend where ever you may be.
