On the road again

We were up at 5.30 AM and took our time getting the last minute things packed and ready to go.  We didn’t have much as we hooked up the night before and basically just had the coffee pot, TV antenna, computers, slides, water hose,  electrical cord and front jacks.  It was barely breaking day light when we headed to dump the tanks and on the road.  (I took this picture of us hooked up before dark the night before)

002

As you can see it was still breaking day light when we arrived in Alabama.

001

Finally it was daylight and we were travel on a roller coaster.  Around the curves and up and down we went.

002

weee were having fun

005

We ran into construction.  I don’t think we’ve ever traveled where we haven’t hit construction

008

More fun ahead .. we just went through Birmingham, AL and looks like more mountains

009

Oh yeah construction and look at that climb ahead of us

011   014

In a bit 2 big boys are gonna meet

015 016

We took US 431 to US 78 to I-78 which is going to be the future I-22 when it’s finished.  Beautiful scenery and a beautiful day for exploring new roads.

034

We saw several other RV’s on the road.  Looks like the snow birds are all starting their journey north

035  037

We arrived in Mississippi .. one of our favorite states!

039 036

We are making good time and decided the truck stop we had planned to spend the night at in Red Banks, MS wasn’t needed as we both still felt like traveling some more miles.

024 026 027

For an Interstate not much traffic at all ..just the way we love it!!

028

the wild flowers are in blooms.  i love seeing them

029

were still on our roller coaster .. ughh the gas mileage isn’t going to like that.

 031  033  040

Hello Tennessee .. although  i almost didn’t get the sign .. i wasn’t paying attention

041 042

were in Memphis can you tell?

043 044 045 046

we passed this huge place where they unload rail cars and put the trailers on semi’s to haul to their destination.  this place is several blocks long and i loved watching them.

 048 049 050

right before arriving into Arkansas and crossing the bridge this poor soul was getting a tow.

047

Welcome to Arkansas .. umm were on our 5th state .. GA, AL, MS, TN, AR

051

here we go across the bridge, we went a different directions through Memphis this time so we didn’t get to pass Graceland.  Maybe next time.

052

I was needing this too .. ughhh

006020

were getting closer to our destination for the night our 6th state is fast approaching.

 021

Ughhh .. we hit a bump as i snapped the picture and it turned out blury .. you can see it says Missouri .. our 6th state of the day .. wow were putting on some miles

 023

We arrived at the ranch around 6.30 pm and we got a spot and parked for the night .. what a very long day.  After getting setup we got some dinner and went to visit our friend Rick we hadn’t seen him since we left the ranch in July!!

Holiday Park at West Point COE

Lagrange, GA

I took these pictures Saturday and started this blog post then.  I decided to finish it and post it for today.  Today was sunny with temps in the 80’s.

All during the night the sound of rain hitting the roof.  I love to sleep to the sound of rain hitting the roof, my back just doesn’t like the moister.  At times the rain was heavy but no severe storms.

001

Around 9.30 AM the rain cleared off and so a walk about was calling me.  The dogwoods have been in bloom but the rain seems to have knocked the petals off the trees.

 003

this road heading over to the next campsites

 004

you can still the puddles the rain left behind.  The news said we had 2” of rain.

005

lots of campers here enjoying camping

009 010

This lake is huge and we had to get into the truck to see lots of it as it was too far for me to walk

011012 013

This guy/gal was enjoying the clearing of morning

015

We got neighbors yesterday afternoon, they are across the street from us on the same side.  Across the street the other direction is a restroom nested in the trees.  We do not have any close neighbors were so secluded, just the way we like it.

 018

this is the road going around our loop

 019

after lunch we drove over to some other camp sites and boat docks .. there are lots of fingers on this lake

022 023  025

these campsites are not the best, they are close together .. not to our liking.  We are not on the water but in our opinion we have the best spot.

026

I have a happy hubby, later in the afternoon he worked on his satellite and he finally got it going.  Lots of persistence on his part and lots of moving the dish around and finally he said did you do the check switch test .. Ummmm .. NO .. we did that and behold it worked .. ooops

 027 028

here is the entrance station when your leaving the park

029

We are parked on site #21

030

Our home waiting patiently for us to return .. doesn’t it look all nestled in?

017

Today was spent enjoying the outdoors and watching the kids play, swim and ride bikes.  It appears several grandparents are here with their grands enjoying spring break.

003

Dinner tonight was stir fry cooked out on the grill with grilled chicken, shrimp and rice cooked inside .. it was yummy and what i love about cooking outside is not very many dishes :)

I have good news to report my dad is doing much better.  They removed tubes and IV’s and once he has a bm he will be released to go home.  Thanks to all who have been praying and thank you Jesus for putting your healing head upon my dad.  I plan to get a good night sleep tonight.
