Corpus Christi, TX

Saying good bye to Padre Island 022

We reluctantly got up and got things around to leave our comfy beach spot. We had reservations in Corpus Christi with full hookups. We could of actually survived another day or so boon docking as our fresh water tank was still on 2/3, grey tank 1 was 1/4 and grey tank 2 empty, black was 1/4 full. Pretty good for 2 1/2 days of dry camping. Our fresh and holding tanks will hold us about a week we figure. Our problem is we only have 1 battery and so we ran our generator around lunch time and dinner time to recharge the battery. We will be having more batteries installed sometime in the future.

We arrived at Padre Palms RV Park and got setup in no time. We were given the first corner spot with a beautiful yard. We also got shade from the trees. Since we were so tight fitting with trying to back the truck in we were given the spot behind us as well to park our beast! What a deal .. no close neighbors this way! Then we had some lunch and then headed to see our friends George and Arnette. 052 051

They decided to take us on a tour of the city of things we could do.

026

Here is Ocean Drive .. billion dollar homes ..

Then we went over by Texas A & M University

029

Corpus Christi bay is beautiful, the water is emerald green.

030

Along the docks this a replica of Christopher Columbus ship the NiƱa.

As you can see the docks are patrolled by US Navy, they were in rubber boats

036

Then we made our way over to USS Lexington Ship that is now a museum

037

As you can see it was very busy, i’d love to take the tour but the website says it requires lots of walking and stairs which neither is doable with my disability.

After an afternoon of site seeing, we returned to our friends, visited a bit more and then said our good byes as we were all exhausted from a fun filled afternoon.
