After the parade we headed to Airport Blvd and had a late lunch/early dinner at Applebee’s. Then we headed to Theodore, AL. As you know i love Christmas lights and so i searched online and found that Bellingrath Garden and Home has a great display.
Here is the Link for anyone who is interested … http://www.bellingrath.org/mcil.html
Wow did i make a mistake, I didn’t pre-order tickets online as I read you could get them at the gate. What a mistake! Yes .. this is the line to get in …
I think they call the stuff on the trees Spanish moss.
The gift shop line was pretty good .. sure wish the garden line was.
Were getting closer to the entrance
Finally we paid the entrance fee and were heading through the garden.
I love the gum drop tree but it was hard to get the picture to take
This poinsettia tree was huge. It was pots of poinsettia's made into a tree.
These pictures do not do these lights justice. They were blue and silver lights that looked like a water fall. They were beautiful.
I had to snap a picture of the guys under the water fall. Of course hubby turned as i was taking the picture.
Next were the snowflakes.
Then on to the Christmas Trees
Next was the candles
more trees
Angels and all the trees had some type of lights in them.
Another fountain
This is the front of the home. We didn’t do the tour of the home as we didn’t have time.
The back of the home
I love the swans out on the lake
they even had a underwater display with all the creatures that live in the Ocean.
This water fountain was in the lake also .. it was beautiful out there.
They even had croc’s
The camel and sheep were on each side of this …
The nativity scene was absolutly beautiful and this picture doesn’t do it justice.
At the end of the tour they had either a Chinese or Japanese scene and it was pretty neat.
It was a great day but a long one. We didn’t get home until almost 10.30 pm. The Magic Christmas was great but lots of walking.
