Ughhh the flu is in our home

well i did get to sleep a bit but not much. Hubby woke up early in the night and wasn’t feeling good. Mr. Toilet was a popular place for hubby. He is running a temp and has it coming out of both ends.

I cleaned the bathroom several times and took a shower It’s been a long few days and so not much rest. I’m glad to report that hubby hasn’t visited Mr. Toilet in the past few hours tonight. Of course he isn’t eating or drinking either. He is resting right now and i’m getting ready to head to bed myself.

Being a friend

I was up at 5.30 am and out the door by 6 am. Sonny a new friend is having gall bladder surgery so Janice and I went to their home to ride to the hospital with them for the just in case. We wanted to be with Sylvia while her hubby was being operated on and for the just in case he didn’t get to come home.

It was a good thing that we did as Sonny came through the surgery okay but there was a bit of problem removing the gall bladder and there was a bit of bleeding from the liver. The doctor decided to admit him and he said they would check his blood work again later. Well it was late before the doctor came in with the results and even though so far things looked okay they were keeping him over night.

We left the hospital around 7 pm and since we hadn’t eaten all day we stopped at McAllister’s Deli across the street from the hospital and got some grub. Then we took Sylvia home and headed home ourselves.

I got home, visited with hubby and bit and then went to bed.

Christmas Program

We went to church this morning and after church we were invited to lunch at the chinese buffet. Yes, you know it .. we went. I never turn down a chance to eat my favorite food. We made a quick trip to Wal-mart and then i had to get home and oatmeal cookies baked for the Christmas program tonight.

The pastor son Caleb started out the program. It was titled Back to the future .. i think .. hehe

The girls started it out with several cute songs.

Then the boys showed up and they sang some more

The kids entering the time machine .. it was cute they went back to the 90’s, 80’s 40’s and with each time they sang songs from that era of time.

The time machine lit up and made noises. it was pretty cool.

Finally the real reason for the season and going back in time was the birth of Jesus.

It was a great program and we really enjoyed it. After church it was home and early to bed as i ahve to be up by 5.30 in the morning!

Christmas Parade

Today there will be 2 post as i have lots of pictures of the day and night events.

I had seen on the local news that Mobile was having their Christmas Parade. Yep .. hubby is taking me. Randall and Janice decided they would like to ride with us. The other RV couple decided to stay home.

We parked in the parking garage for the convention center, science center and several hotels.

We are in the historic downtown part of Mobile, AL. They have balcony's like New Orleans.

I wasn’t sure what this tall building was .. but it has 34 floors!

The parade goes in a square and while we were waiting we headed over to …..

Even though it was a bit on the cool side people were out and about.

I love this cross that was located in the park as well and it was a big attraction for kids to get their pictures on.

What is a parade without clowns … I love their shoes.

After lots of walking we headed back and since we were a bit chilled we thought this sounded great …

They all got regular coffee and i got a caramel macchiato. They had iron table and chairs outside so we took advantage and sat in front of the coffee shop and enjoyed the parade.

How does the Gulf have a parade without a ship .. they don’t .. pretty neat i thought

Southern Belle’s .. I have to admit this was one my favorite parts of the parade. I love these dresses .. Just glad i never had to wear them.

These little girls were adorable and i was thrilled to see the sweat shirts on them as it was a bit on the cool side.

I’m not sure what happened to Frosty but he started out straight and then he began to lean …

and then he was on his nose ..

These little fellows were enjoying their parade it was cute to see their dance moves and boy did they ever have some moves.

Yes even at their age they were enjoying the parade .. or was that their toys?

The doggies were even getting into the spirit .. or were they just wanting to be where it was warm?

We really enjoyed touring the historic area of Mobile and the Parade was great. I have to admit it was much warmer then last year parade in Springfield, MO. We took our coats but by the time the parade started we had taken them off today.
