Squirrel and Bird Watching

Not really much is going on with us .. i got up this morning to an evasion of squirrels eating the bird seed i put out. My neighbor Arnett loves to watch birds and her husband George hung up the feeders and the birds were missing the feed. Another neighbor Cora donated some bird feed and i filled the feeders. (Thanks Cora) The birds were in heaven … that is until this morning …

My lens kept fogging up because it’s so nice and cool inside but hot and humid outside. But you can see the evasion.

This squirrel found him a great hiding spot while the others were fighting.

Later Lexi chased the squirrels away and the birds returned. Plus it’s really hot and humid right now so i think the squirrels are waiting for a cooler time to return ?

I also made up some hummingbird feed and hung my feeder as i had spotted a couple. Sorry it wasn’t a good picture but all that i could get.

I transplanted this plant, not sure how long i will leave it in this pot. It was in with another plant and needed it’s own space. As you can see by the picture below this plant is expanding and taking over the entire pot.

My rose bush is getting new buds and the flowers (don’t recall what they are) are really blooming and looking beautiful. I can view all of these out of my dining window. Even the birds.

It’s been really hot and humid with rain off and on here. So the past 2 days have been spent indoors. I’ve taken advantage of moving my laptop to the table so that i can play and watch the birds. I have found i really like watching the birds and the squirrels. The squirrels are out in the morning and late afternoon.

Nothing really to blog about

I haven’t really had much to blog about lately. Our life right now is depending on health issues. Plus i have to drive to get wifi which is a bummer. I have been looking at maybe getting an air card but hate the thought of having to spend $60 bucks a month!

Our memorial day was spent packing things up and on the road a little after 9 am. We spent it traveling on the road back to Illinois. We had a smooth day of 281 miles of travel. We arrived around 3.30 pm. Got things setup. Visited with some friends we hadn’t seen in a year.

June 1st hubby went to his dental appointment but it wasn’t successful. So an appointment with our primary doctor was scheduled, then test.

After reviewing the results, another attempt is going to be made Tuesday June 15 to extract hubby’s teeth.

In the meantime we’ve been doing a bit of volunteer work to keep us busy. A day was spent in Springfield trying to get some title work on our camper and truck straightened up.

We are not sure how long we are going to be here. It all depends on hubby’s health and how things go. I’m enjoying seeing all of our friends, but I'm also ready to head back to the ranch.

I would also like to head north and do some site seeing but as usual our plans are written in jell-o. Only time will tell what is around our next corner.

Tomorrow is moving day

We’ve been having a great time at the ranch. Lots of riding with the kids .. lots of fishing for hubby and the kids and today i spent my day volunteering at the poker run.

Tomorrow we are packing up and heading to Illinois.

Hope your memorial day weekend has been a great one and i dread being on the road with all that traffic but hubby has an appointment.

I will be without internet for a bit but will update you all when i can.

On the road & laundry

Monday …

We got up early and got things ready to take our grand daughter Hailey home. We were on the road a lil after 7 am! We’ve had a great time together and it’s amazing how fast the time has went. So today was spent traveling on the road! We dropped Hailey off and spent some time seeing our son/grand son and then we stopped by to see the other son and then it was time to be back on the road again. We arrived back to our home around 8.30 pm. We did a bit visiting with friends and then it was early to bed.

Tuesday .. Laundry day!

We hadn’t did laundry since arriving and so after a morning of doing absolutely nothing we decided we better get our laundry done. Hubby did a bit of fishing, but only 1 fish was caught today. We spent the evening visiting with friends.

A Fun Weekend!

Our friend Jeanette brought her grand children to the ranch with her and their parents are coming later. Our grand daughter Hailey and Harley are good friends from school. The girls had a great day playing. They have watched TV, went swimming, played at the playground, blew bubbles, ate lots of ummm let’s say good stuff for their mother’s sake .. hehe

The water is starting to go back down and clear up and this turtle was enjoying the beautiful day! Kelsey and Gabe showed up on Saturday and spent the night with us.

We’ve had a great weekend, the weather has been great and it was good to have warm weather so that Hailey could fully enjoy swimming at her favorite swimming hole here at the ranch. The ranch has been one busy place, all the campgrounds are pretty full and everyone was taking advantage of the great weather and it’s looking like most are leaving their stuff here for the big Memorial day weekend.

It’s amazing how fast our time has went by and tomorrow we are taking her back home. We will miss our princess very much. Gabe and Kelsey headed back for the work week and will return on Thursday to spend the weekend with us and then help us pack up to move to Illinois.

Flooding!!

We woke up to rain, it rained most of the night. I slept in until 10 am!! My back was bothering me so Papa entertained Hailey while i slept. Hailey and Papa went fishing this morning and Hailey proudly shows their catch.

We spent most of the mid morning and early afternoon inside. Hailey played on the computer while Papa took a nap and grandma picked up a bit. Then we decided to go riding and fishing.

when we got down to the road we got a huge surprise! The water is rushing down the creek and has came up big time!

Down at Wilder the water was almost level with the handicap ramp. Usually the water is much lower then this. As you can see the pretty blue/green .. Not this afternoon!

Since no fishing this afternoon we took 4 wheeler rides instead.

There was no crossing the stream today because of the high water.

We came home and Hailey and Papa grilled hot dogs and polish sausage on the grill while grandma made mac and cheese inside.

Hailey has been wanting to play in the water but with the cooler temps I’ve only let her go to her knees. Today the sun came out and it felt nice so grandma gave in and took her to her favorite place to play in the water.

Foggy!! although i didn’t let her get in too far and she ended up getting all of her clothes soaked. Of course Grandma knew when she took her down there she would. Hailey just can’t resist the water!

It’s really beautiful here and right now is a great time to be here as the place doesn’t have lots of people here yet. Holiday weekends are crazy here.

While Hailey was playing in the water Papa finally caught the Gold trout he has been chasing for the past few days. Hailey in grandma sweat shirt .. she was cold after swimming, so being the grandma i am i gave her my warm shirt.

It’s hard to believe how fast time is going here on the ranch. We have been having a great time enjoying our grand daughter!!
