A busy week

It’s been a busy week for us and the time has flew by.  We’ve been spending our time enjoying great friendships, spending time with our grand kids. 

Tuesday May 8, was my brother Jimmy’s wedding anniversary .. happy 25 yrs!  Wednesday was my aunt Rosie’s birthday and Thursday May 10 was my sister Rosie’s birthday.  Happy birthday.  Saturday May 12th is my sister Patty wedding anniversary.  Yes May is a popular month for my family.

Thursday night we went to Hailey’s soft ball game and they won again.  So far they have won both their games. 

Today we picked Hailey up from school and we had a great time playing at the park, fishing,  4 wheel riding and sitting by the fire enjoying friends.  Tomorrow is a family reunion with a DJ to celebrate all the good things that has happened to our family in the month of May.

Happy Anniversary Honey

Today is our wedding anniversary we have been married 29 years!  It’s amazing how time flies.  It still feels like it hasn’t been that long ago that we were so young and excited about starting our life together.  It’s been a great day for us.  We spent time doing what we love, enjoying playing games with good friends.

Happy Anniversary honey, I love You!!  I look forward to many more wonderful years with you.

A Relaxing Weekend

We really haven’t done anything the last few days.  On Saturday Cora and Dave invited us over for home made ice cream and it was great on a hot day. Some grocery shopping, went to church and have basically just veggied out and I've been taking naps.  I’m tired and not feeling the best.  We’ve had pretty warm days the past couple of days and the humidity is horrible!

Trip to the Doctor

I got up early this morning and got showered and washed my hair.  I have a doctors appt.  It’s another beautiful day the sun is shinning and it’s T-shirt and shorts weather!  Yeppie

I went and saw the doctor .. ummm my blood pressure was 172/128 .. Yikes!!  It wasn’t surprising as I've been down in the back for sometime with all this cool and rainy weather.  When i have severe back pain as I've been experiencing my blood pressure shots through the roof.  I take 2 blood pressure pills a day and even with those it’s high.  I will be making an appt with my regular doctor to see how my blood pressure is doing sometime next week. 

 

After we left the doctor’s office we needed to do a few stops, one was the ford dealership looking for a part hubby needs for the truck. They didn’t have it :(  We went to Golden Corral for lunch/dinner.  It ended up being a long day and we were both exhausted when we got home.  We got a nice surprise our oldest son stopped to visit a bit since he is working in the area.  It’s always good to see our son.

I went to Cora’s for a visit with her and Wanda and then headed home to retire for the evening.  Hope you all had a great day.

Rain brings May Flowers?

They say April showers brings May flowers, well if that is the case we should have all kinds of beautiful flowers.  At least the warmth seems to have finally found me.  Yesterday temps were around 84 degrees!  YESSSS .. finally i’m back to my T-shirt and shorts weather.  My back started to let up a bit yesterday afternoon and i ventured outside and had some company come visit me.  Cora came to sit outside and enjoy the warmth, friend Jim, Pam and then Dave stopped later.  We had a great time sitting outside in the warmth of the Sunshine.

Later hubby got dinner for us, he made Salisbury steak and mashed tators .. yummy .. thanks hubby.  Later Cliff, Georgia, Cora, Dave, hubby and I played Pegs and Jokers.  We had a great time even though the men did win both games.

Today temps have really warmed up to almost 90 degrees!  I spent some time sitting outside until the sun got too hot and i started to sweat and then it was time to retire inside.  I’m glad to see the rain gone, the sun shinning and can feel the warmth again.  Although this weekend the rain is suppose to return.

April is going out like a Lion .. where has the time gone?  It’s hard to believe April is over and tomorrow a new month begins.  We woke to thunder storms this morning and it was another very ruff night.  I have basically been living on heating pads and pain pills.  I didn’t get up until almost 11 AM! 

Not much to really blog about when you are spending all your time in a bed, on the couch or in a recliner.  With this back that is all that i am able to do.  It has rained so much i’m beginning to think i need to invest in a boat.  We are sounded by water and no i wasn’t able to get outside and get any pictures.  I’m hibernating like a bear does in the winter.

I did manage to put some pork steaks in the crock pot for dinner.  Later i added some brown gravy mix and mushroom for a tasty gravy.  Hubby nuked some baked potatoes and supper was served.

Spending the day with kids

It was another ruff night of sleeping, more storms and lots of rain!  I slept in again this morning and spent my entire morning laying around.  I went from my recliner to the bed.  This back is still not letting up and there doesn’t seem to be any relief in the next few days with the weather we are experiencing.

Gabe and Kelsey came to spend time with us and of course they brought the grand dogs.  Gabe made breakfast for everyone.  We had eggs and they were good.  Of course it was a a lazy day for everyone.  The dogs really didn’t want to do much other then sleep either. 

Of course us girls didn’t argue with that as we took a nap as well.  Kelsey laid on the couch and i went to my comfy bed and heating pads. Gabe gave me a wonderful neck and back rub.  Hubby can’t do it very good or long due to his fibermyagia (ignore spelling) it hurts his fingers and hands.   I had a splitter headache from the stress on my back and it’s amazing how Gabe can hit the right spot and relieve my headache.   Just wished it would last longer.  Same with my back and leg pain.  I have certain spots that pressure can be put on and it relieves the pain.  Just doesn’t last long and unfortunately i don’t have someone who can do it for me 24/7 :((  I finally got dressed around 2 PM.  I decided i better put on some clothes today although it wouldn’t of took much for me to have a pj day.

 

Chico was fascinated with being able to see out the windows while being perched on the back of the couch.  Around 6 pm the kids needed to head home to get ready for work and school tomorrow.  We said our good byes and the kids left.  We spent the rest of the evening in the warmth of our comfy home.
