The weather outside is frightful

Oh the weather outside is frightful and it’s not inviting. We woke to record breaking temps! Don’t let it snow .. don’t let it snow.

We had both electric heaters going and the furnace did come on a few times as well. But we stayed nice and warm inside our comfy home. It was 72 degrees when we got up. I was worried with our home being much larger and all the slide outs that during severe cold weather it wouldn’t stay warm. I was concerned with the water freezing or worse our pipes. We left the bathroom faucet on with a small stream. Our new passed the test with flying colors. Ms. Southwind didn’t have slide outs and so she was easy to keep warm and last winter i knew that several RVer’s put in their slides to keep warm and their pipes froze up.

The sun came out after lunch so a needed trip to Wal-mart was on the agenda. Running out of toilet paper and dog food is not a good thing.

Tonight’s dinner was cubed steak, california blend veggies and mac and cheese.

Tonight is suppose to get to around 28 and then tomorrow the 60’s and Thursday they are talking 70’s again!

Windy & Cold

Brrr .. we woke to a cold morning. The wind is blowing and it’s nippy outside. Right now at 2 pm my weather bug says 41! Although my niece just said back in Illinois it’s like 8 degrees so i will take the 41. The sun is shining but with the wind it’s still pretty cool. Were suppose to get a hard freeze but hopefully warmth is coming back.

Today was spent inside the warmth of my comfy home. It was too cold to outside.

For dinner i made chicken stir fry and the rest of the evening was spent inside the warmth of home.

They are predicting record breaking temps for tonight .. brrrrr

Happy Birthday Tyson

Happy Birthday Tyson. Tyson is 27! Wow, it’s hard to believe. I called and talked to him. Today was a beautiful day. The sun came out and it was in the high 60’s. I spent the afternoon sitting outside and enjoying the weather.

After dinner I helped make fruit baskets. The kids finished their Christmas program practice and then it was time to load up on the wagon for Christmas caroling.

We had a wagon full and we had a great time and then the rain came down so we headed back to the church. Once I got home i got some dry clothes on and spent the rest of my evening enjoying my Christmas lights and the warmth of my comfy home.

A Christmas Party

Today was a bit on the chilly side when i got up. But as the sun came out it warmed up. After lunch i was able to sit outside and enjoy some sunshine!

I got hubby to take my camera up on the roof and get me some pictures.

That’s a long way down …

We’ve were invited to a church christmas party tonight at the pastor house. We had a wonderful time although i forgot my camera .. :((

There was about 25 people there and we had some wonderful snack foods and then we played a couple of games and of course we had loads of fun visiting.

We went home around 10 pm and called it a night. I’m so glad it’s warming up .. although i’m hearing it’s not gonna last long.

The sun is out

I was up most of the night with my back and so i slept in this 9 am! I’m so glad to see the sun shining today. It’s warming up a bit but still not to my liking.

Here is the wreath i made. It’s not the greatest but it works for me.

Today would have been my father in-laws birthday if he were with us today. Hubby was a bit on the sad side thinking of his dad. Although he no longer in pain and in heaven. We miss you very much!

We decided to go out for dinner tonight with friends Randall and Janice. We had a great time and then was back home and just relaxing and trying to stay warm. It’s going to be another cold one tonight … brrr … Old man winter go away!!

A Skylight

Brrrr .. it’s cold outside! The sun doesn’t seem to want to come out today and it’s really cold. I’m sick of the cold but it appears old man winter has finally found us.

Is this a new trend of a sky light or is it a hole in the roof? Oh no .. there is church tonight and we are going to need a roof and heat??

We went to the Wednesday night potluck dinner and i had some very tasty Taco Soup. It hit the spot with the cold temps. Since they didn’t get the roof back on over the hole in the roof church was held in the fellowship hall. Yes, at least we have heat that isn’t going to go out the roof. Services were good.

They have really come a way since i posted pic’s .. yep most of the roof has the sheeting on it .. it’s amazing to watch the changes.

After church i came home and went to bed as i wasn’t feeling good. Yep .. the back isn’t liking this cold weather either.

It feels like Christmas!

Wow .. it’s cold here! It got into the 20’s last night and today is suppose to be in the high 40’s. We are having a cold spell! Don’t you know i do not like cold?? Please send me some warmth. I’m beginning to think that no mater where i try to escape the cold it’s no use as it follows me wherever i may go.

I spent most of the day inside yesterday so i could stay warm. I made a pot of potato soup to help keep us warm.

Last night i did ride the church van and go to the wm meeting. We had a wonderful time and the food afterwards was soooo good. Lots of great dessert .. Yep my favorite foods.

Today it was another cold morning but the sun came out and it warmed up into the low 50’s although it was still cold. Tonight they are talking another cold night and looks like it’s another night of the letting the water drip to keep from freezing.

It’s suppose to warm up a little bit but then another cold front is going to be coming again. They said earlier that this is an more then usual cold spell and that last year the cold winter in history didn’t get this cold this early. Ughhh .. i’m thinking not a good sign … old man winter please go away and stop following me.

I made a pot of Chili today as it was another day of needing a hot food to keep us warm. I spent my afternoon putting up some more decoration and i have all but my wreath finished.

I made these bows and it surprised me how they actually turned out. I’m not a crafty person.

I love sitting at night with just the tv and christmas lights on. It’s so comfy and relaxing for me.
