Old-times Day & A GTG

We got up and got ready as we are going with friends to Old-times Day.

As we were getting closer we realized we were going in the right direction as we say lots of horses and wagons.

Once we arrived, it was $4 per adult, a bit steep but we paid the fee and entered. They were giving pony rides.

They also had a spider man bouncy house

This little cabin/shack was like a gift store where you could by syrup and other things.

In back of the same cabin/shack they had blue grass musicians.

They had sugar cane and guess what they were doing with it?

I was hoping to see it come out, we waited and waited …

Lots of smoke when their cooking, i had to stand back because of my asthma and behold i finally got to see this …

The potty was pretty neat outside, although the inside wasn’t more then an out house

Here was my favorite part, quilting! I enjoy looking at quilts and material. Although i haven’t done much but i plan to winter

They had several furniture displays, this one was all made of cedar. I didn’t get a picture but i did find a candle scent display and they had my pumpkin spice i was looking for .. yeppie … i hope it’s as good as scentsy .. i love my scentsy candles.

We decided not to eat at the Old times Day and decided on a place in town where we could sit down. We went to the same place we went Sunday and it’s called Molton’s Kountry Kitchen. We had the buffet.

Hubby had time for a quick rest, well attempt as Lucy was ready for a rest as well. Around 3.30 pm one of the church members came to our door to invite us over to the chili cook off and get together.

After a wonderful meal, we sat around and enjoyed fellowship while the kids enjoyed playing and then before we knew it was time for the hay ride. Hubby and i snuck back home while they were loading the kids up, it was pretty cool and we had way too much fun for one day.

A afternoon of shopping

Today is Friday! Ooops .. that no longer applies to me because everyday is Friday ..hehe I got up and did my normal morning routine of just taking my time and doing what i want.

A little before 10 am i got dressed and went over to the church to visit with the guys and gals. The walls sure are going up. With the new walls up you can tell what the rooms are going to look like .. pretty exciting.

Then i came home and got online and did some searching for a Lowe’s, Hobby Lobby, Wal-mart. We had lunch, yes .. left over’s but hey it’s better then nothing .. right? After lunch we decided we would take a trip to Hattiesburg to do some shopping. I forgot to get my pumpkin spice for my candle and with Thanksgiving on it’s way i wanted the pumpkin scent. Can you believe they were out? It was around 6 pm when we arrived back and by then i wasn’t in the mood to cook so we went back to the same place we ate Saturday night. I got the name this time .. Rocky Creek Catfish. This time hubby and i both had the all you can eat catfish fritters for 10 bucks a person. It was good but .. we waited in line about 45 mins to get a table! Yikes it was a busy night, but worth the wait and by the time we got served i was starving.

We went home, unloaded and i took a shower and called it an early night, i was exhausted.

More walls up

We woke to a cool morning of 51 degrees but it’s in the 60’s with the sun shining. The wind is blowing but in the sun it’s beautiful.

From the cool/damp weather my back hurt me most of the night and so this morning i got up and took some med’s and went back to bed. I finally got up and got myself moving. I got a load of laundry going (which i just love having in my home).

The building is going pretty good, i finally caught the guys putting up a wall.

Lunch for me was left over potato soup and left over bean soup for hubby. After lunch i finally got the driver i needed for my printer downloaded from Kodak for windows 7. My new laptop is windows 7 and my printer wouldn’t work it .. finally it does now.

A rainy day

Sometime during the night it started to rain and at times it poured. Most of the morning it rained. The satellite guy showed up around 9 am. Yes, i have my TV Land, Hallmark and Lifetime again!

I didn’t venture outside this morning because of the rain. So I really didn’t do much today other then i did make potato soup for lunch. With the rain and cooler weather it was tasty.

We went to a church tonight and they had a wonderful meal before church. Yummie we had fried chicken, corn, cheesy potatoes, vanilla wafer pudding .. it was so good.

Church services were fantastic again tonight. This church sure does know how to worship and the minister sure does know how to preach. It turned off to be a wonderful evening and life is so good when your serving the Lord.

Work in progress

It’s been a on and off light rain day. So far the guys have been able to keep plugging along. I spent my morning cleaning and doing things around the camper. I did venture out to see how things were coming along. Lonna and I normally like to see how things are going and to see if the men need anything.

Things are coming along, they have 3 walls up now as you can see in the pictures above.

After lunch we waited on the satelitte guy to show up and finally around 2 pm they called to say he wouldn’t be here today after all .. instead first thing in the morning. So today was called a short day and we decided to head to find the nearest Wally world as we needed supplies. Wally world is about 30 mins away and so as usual we spent too much .. wow groceries are getting higher. We spent $130 and didn’t get much at all!

We got home and called it a relaxing night .. we were both tired as neither of us slept good the night before. Must be the humid weather. It feels like more rain is in the air to us both.

1st Day of November

I woke up to a beautiful morning, the sun is shining.

Are these guys working on helping to add a small addition and to tie the buildings together? Oops i forget their volunteers and breaks are often and work is little … just kidding ..on a serious note .. it’s all work for the Lord and some may have health issues, some are older and they may require more breaks or only offer a few hours of service but no matter what the circumstances were blessed to be here and be apart of this wonderful experience.

My flowers are enjoying the warm weather again. They love going south for the winter.

I spent my day doing a bit of straightening up, did a couple loads of laundry and spent the afternoon visiting with new friends.

It’s been a beautiful day here .. God is so good.

Happy Halloween

Wow, it’s amazing this is the last day of Oct. Where has the time gone this summer?

We went to church and after church we went to lunch with new friends and church members. We went to a Southern Buffet and man o man .. it was so good. I thought Woody’s had the best fried chicken .. wrong this place does. The food was excellent and i look forward to enjoy more meals there.

After church we came home and it’s such a beautiful day outside. The weather is perfect. This is the view out my front door .. yes the dogs are excited to have a big yard to run in.

Hubby changed clothes and went to work on leveling up our rig as this morning i had problems with bouncing from wall to wall. The rig settled a bit on the loose soil and so he went to work to level us up. He did a wonderful job and now i won’t be bouncing off the walls. We went to evening services and once again the service was good. The song service is wonderful, the pastor so far seems to be what we like. The people appear to be very friendly.

After church we came home and spent the evening relaxing.
