Another Day of Convention

Monday night we broke out into our regional groups and here is 2 couples that are wonderful friends of our.  Everyone but me was sporting beads that our Regional Missionary Bill Gross threw to the crowd.  Of course hubby got a special treat as Bill personal put the beads around his neck and then kissed him on the head.

2013 RV Maps Convention Begins!

The 2013 RV Maps Convention has officially began!! 

What an exciting time it’s going to be.  Pastor Phil Schneider started off our Sunday morning services with a moving message, then we had a great lunch.

Pastor Brad Williams from Lindale Texas gave an awesome message Sunday night.  Convention is off to a great start!!

It’s starting to get busy

The campground is filling up with early arrivals for the 2013 RV Maps Convention.  It’s an exciting time of the year.  We get to see friends we haven’t seen all year long and we get to meet new friends.  We enjoy fellowship and worshiping our Savior.  It’s a time to restore, renew and get ready for the new year ahead of us in Building churches and changing lives.

It’s a tradition to start out with a Saturday morning breakfast get together.  Yessss .. I get up early to attend!!

3 precious friends, Nancy (who needs your prayers as she has terminal cancer) Shirley and BJ (who by the grace of God won her recent bought with cancer and a deadly ear infection)

as usual there was a large turn out and it was great morning for a outside get together

Saturday night was registration and tomorrow the Convention officially begins and the grand kids go home.

It’s October!

Wow, time sure has flew by .. it’s already October!  My Oh My it’s starting to get active around here with some of the early arrivals for the RV Maps Convention.  Several of our friends have pulled in and excitement is filling the air.   I’ve been playing games in the evening and sure have missed that.  Convention is a great time as we see friends we haven’t seen all year long.

We’ve been discussing when we will head to our stick home and it’s looking like around the 1st of November.  Hubby has decided he is going to do some trapping this year.  He is so excited about that, it’s a hobby he loved doing when we lived in a stick home.  Were looking forward to spending the holidays at our stick home with our family.

Happy Autumn/Fall

Oh no it’s official .. Fall has arrived!  I’m torn with love and dislike as I love the fall colors, but dread the cooler temps!  It won’t be long and winter will be right around the corner and that my friends I am NOT ready for!

 

We spent the morning enjoying time with the grand kids and later in the afternoon their dad took them to spend some time with and so the dreaded task of getting our home washed was tackled.  It was a mess and never has it been so dirty since we’ve owned it.  In fact it had mildew on it!!  One washing is not going to be enough, were going to have to tackle this job at least one more time before Nov 1st when the water gets turned off here at the campground. 

We did have a beautiful day for doing the job.  Hope you all enjoyed your first day of Autumn/Fall .. until next time …

Fall Festival

The day started off with a bit of chill but it wasn’t long until the sun warmed things up nicely.  Today we took the grand kids to the Fall Festival here in town.

Of course their first choice is to head straight to the petting zoo.  We got some pet food.

The cow, sheep and goat were getting lots of attention so we did feed them long, the poor Llama wanted attention too so the kids decided to move to him/her fast.

they also had pony rides but they were not interested and since their dad takes them riding that wasn’t a big deal for them. 

next we went into the old time days barn and toured it

the kids enjoyed seeing some of the things that are ancestors used .. Toby was fascinated by the old buggy, sled and esp this car that had a picture of the guy riding it.

After lots of walking and looking through the booth’s it was time to head to Wal-mart to stock up on junk food and then back home to spend some time playing.

It’s been a year!

This post is dedicated to 2 of my beloved Duke and Dixie.  It was a year ago today that you left us.  It has been a ruff year and there isn’t a day that goes by that I do not think of you.  You filled my heart with so much love and you are deeply missed.  RIP my precious babies.  Mama will always have a place in her heart for you.
