Happy Birthday to Me!

Today is my birthday .. NO NO .. I’m not telling you my age .. just know that I’m now on the up hill climb to the big 50! 

We spent a wonderful weekend at my dad’s house and it is always great spending time there.  On Tuesday we returned to our home on wheels and I loved being back home yet there are so many mixed emotions for me.  I’m not sure if it’s all the stress and turmoil we have endured the past year and half!!  Although I love being at my dad’s home, I am not sure it will ever be home to me.  When I’m at my dad’s house I can feel my dad so close to me and I love being there .. BUT .. and here comes the big but!  I miss my home on wheels.  I’m not sure that I will ever feel that a stick house will be home ever again.  For me there is just something about my home on wheels.  I miss it when I’m away from it and I’m so excited to always return to my home on wheels.  It’s where my mind and soul enjoys being.  Even though right now we are staying in one spot, it’s still home!

I guess only time will tell what lies ahead for our lives and where home will be. 

Happy 4th of July!

 

I know I’m posting this late but they always say better late then never! 

We spent the weekend at the Lake in our home on wheels and Tuesday we spent the night at my dad’s place and then we drove back to the lake on Wednesday night for the fire works.  Hubby had given his word to help with them and so I enjoyed watching them.  The next day we loaded up and headed back to dad’s house to celebrate the 4th of July with family.

Since the custody battle and divorce has finally been settled it was our son’s holiday to have the kids.  We went to my sister (Patty’s) for a BBQ and pool party.

Since our lil man Toby hasn’t yet gotten his water cast he had to spend time with Papa playing other games.  Although ….

after several of the kids got out of the pool as the food was almost ready .. Grammy grabbed Toby and pulled him clothes and all in the pool and I held his arm up .. he loved it!  Since we didn’t bring his swimming clothes Grammy had to find a pair of trunks to fit him and throw his clothes in the dryer.  (Thanks sis)

After a great meal it was time to swim again and then Toby wanted to get back in the pool again once all the other kids were out so of course Grammy once again took him for a swim .. It just wasn’t fair that Grammy’s lil man had to sit out on a beautiful day to enjoy the fresh cool water!!

Even though it wasn’t dark it was time to get out the sparklers and let the kids enjoy them.  Papa got the honor of being in control of lighting them.

before we knew it … the time had come to take the kids to their mom as it was her weekend to have the kids.  Once we dropped the kids off it was time to head back to White Hall to watch the fire works and then head to dad’s to get some rest.  We had a great day and it’s always fun enjoying family!  Thanks sis .. it was a blast!

Hailey started counting how many fish she was catching and so you can imagine what lil bro had to do …

yes you guessed it .. he had to count his too.  Although grammy had to help him cast and catch them since we have a one arm fisherman. 

Toby got tired and sat on Papa’s lap while his sister and I finished our race .. Tobe man and I were on one team and Hailey was on her’s.  Since grammy caught 13 we had to stay until Hailey caught 13 too.  Grammy had to keep letting hers get loose.

Sissy had to have her picture taken with Papa too .. we had a great time and are enjoying our time with our precious jewels.

We went to watch the mud drag races at the fair in Carlinville

this truck really put on a show as he rolled over while racing.  I am happy to report that the driver was okay and even got his tires fixed in time to finish the race and took 2nd place!

Garden tours

I took a Saturday off and went with my friend Wanda to St. Louis to tour some private home gardens.  Oh my!  It was like gardens and homes you see in magazines!

it was a great day and I rushed home and got ready and we went to carrollton to watch the demonalation derby that my nephew’s are in .. another great day!!

Happy Father’s Day!

Well it’s been a bit since I last posted on my blog.  We’ve been busy having way to much fun with the grand kids.

We’ve been to carnivals

We’ve been baking .. Hailey has found that she loves baking brownies as much as she enjoys eating them.  Of course Papa is her baking partner.

Daddy enjoying father’s day in bed, the kids were excited to give daddy his presents and of course hubby’s best gift was spending it with family.

Even though we are not traveling .. we are still living in our home on wheels and enjoying our time with family.  Hope all you father’s out there had a great day!  

Passing of our beloved Dolly

Our beloved Dolly passed away this morning around 8.30 AM.  Her first  5 years of her life were ruff as she spent them living in a very small cage.  Once Dolly came to live with us it took her a bit to get used to not living in a cage.  Below is a picture of her a goat that we raised on a bottle.  We kept the goat in the cage until he was house broken and Dolly always insisted on being in there with him.

Dolly loved life and enjoyed seeing new places.  Dolly was 15 yrs old when she passed on .. so she had 10 good years with us.  I’m so happy that her good years out weighed her bad years.

We buried Dolly with her favorite cover (blue and white snow flakes in above picture) and next to our beloved Lulu, Duke and Dixie, now they all 4 rest in peace together. 

Dolly didn’t like baths as she was so cold natured, she just shivered.  She didn’t have much hair.

Dolly would use her nose to throw her sweeter in the air during the winter .. it was her way of saying “I’m cold, put my sweeter on me)

Dolly loved snuggling with the other dogs and so her final rest place had to be with those she loved.

Dolly you  will be missed and our hearts are sad.  May you rest in peace my sweet sweet Dolly.
