On the road to Leesburg, FL

Leesburg, Fl

 

We were up early and finished the last minute things that needed put away.  The truck is packed up and here we are ready to roll out.  We dumped the tanks and were on the road by a little after 9 AM.

 

We traveled down 80 to US 29 where  got back onto US 27

 

We had a nice leisurely drive and the road was great. 

 

We saw lots of orange groves

 

Hey we have an Arcadia in Illinois too!

  

we saw lots of nice size lakes

we were so enjoying the drive and enjoying all the beautiful scenery

    

and then we hit Sebring!  Ughhh the traffic was back.

US 27 went from a relaxing drive to a nightmare.  we had to stop for so many stop lights and we were beginning to think we’d never get to where we were going.  If you ever take US 27 GET OFF before you hit Sebring! 

Finally we got through all the traffic lights and our friends were waiting outside of Leesburg to lead us to the church.  We had to take the long way around as we are so big and most roads were not allowed on in town.

 

they were nice size roads and wasn’t too bad of a drive compared to what we had just come through with all the traffic lights.

 

ummm isn’t this a dirt road?  Guess that is why i our GPS kept asking me if we were sure we wanted to go on unpaved roads .. lol  We reached our destination .. got the basic setup done as it was so hot.  The dogs were very hot and so ready to get inside and cool down.  Oh i forgot to tell you on our way through all the traffic the AC stopped working!  Ughhh what a miserable ride when the AC isn’t working and it’s in the high 80’s!

 

We got setup done and it was the after 2 PM so we rode with friends Pete and Linda to go eat.  We went to the Cracker Barrel, the guys had pancakes, eggs and sausage .. they wanted breakfast, Linda and I had the turkey and dressing special and it was wonderful.   We had a great time catching up and then we went back to the ranch.  We are at a Cowboy Church and it’s really neat.  We go the tour and then it was getting late so we said good bye to our friends and needed to finish setting up.  Yes, hubby is happy he has satellite TV and my internet works :))  We were exhausted and i called it an early night and got ready for bed.  I will take pictures tomorrow.  It’s wonderful to be in the peace and quiet and away from all the hustle of a noisy town such as Miami.

trip to La Belle, FL

Moore Haven, FL

We got up and took our morning walk and then we decided to go ahead and run into La Belle, Fl for a few groceries and to fill the truck up with diesel.  Ouch!! $4.19 a gallon.  We may need a loan to get home with these fuel prices.

  

after getting diesel we stopped by Save A-lot and picked up a few things we need during the week.  $20 poorer we headed back to the campground.

 

on our way home we got to see this truck full of oranges!  Yummy i love oranges!

 

a little farther down the road hubby spotted a trailer being filled.  

i thought this was really neat, the first time since being in Fl we got to see this.

 

It wasn’t long we were getting close to where our home was parked

 

we came home and had a bite to eat (I had a salad, hubby had left over's) and then spent the rest of the day lounging around.  I finished a book and started a new one.

 

Dinner tonight was something simple as i do not like to cook big meals the night before we move and tomorrow is moving day.  I made potato soup and put some shrimp in it .. it turned out very tasty.

 

We will be pulling out of our nice and quiet and wonderful place tomorrow and heading to Leesburg, Fl for about a week.

Ortona Corp Campground

We got up this morning and took our time getting around.   It was time to go explore the campground more. 

this is a beautiful and well taken care of campground.  It’s a beautiful morning to explore

 

Lexi enjoyed her morning walk.  It’s still hard to believe 2 weeks ago today we lost our beloved LuLu and it isn’t any easier.  We have seen so many things here that she would of just loved.  She loved going to a new place and exploring it.  Hubby is still having a hard time dealing with his best friend is gone.

 

there is a nice bridge that goes over this creek that runs into the lake

I think this sign is cute .. although i have been to more then 1 although i’m going to have to try to remember how many i have done and how many more to go.

 

We haven’t seen any Manatee’s yet

 

they have the locks open and lots of water flowing

   

My back is feeling better today and so this afternoon we took another walk and did some more exploring

    

this guy caught him a fish, it looked like a big mouth bass

    

It’s been another great day of enjoying lounging in my lounger and reading my book, i finish one book and have started another.  While i was outside reading i had a whole chicken on the grill roasting.

 

I made some rice to go with it and dinner was served .. mmmm another tasty meal.  We took Lexi on her evening walk and the when we got home it was dark so the rest of the night will be spent watching the tube and it won’t be long before it’s lights out for me.
