Several of us RVer’s decided we’d get up early and go have breakfast on the beach! It was a beautiful day today (last Sunday when we went it was a bit on the cold side) We choose the same place as last week. They have a great menu and it’s cheap!
Since there were 10 of us we had to get 2 separate tables but we were close to each other. Our table L – R Bev, Jan, Les, hubby, and Ray the silly one.
the next table L_R Jim, Margie, Peggy and Dave. The place was full.
Les decided he wanted to go parasailing. So after breakfast he headed over to where you load the boat. It is $75 for 10 minutes. There was no way i was going to try that i don’t like heights. Hubby didn’t want to either.
Ray and Hubby took off strolling the beach while Jan, Bev and I sat our chairs in the sand and enjoyed the beach and sun.
Well we tried to enjoy the view. This couple kept invading our view and let me just say that front side looked worse then this back side did. It’s amazing what you can see at the beach. I do not know what people are thinking when they put on some of these suits.
On the other side we had this view. As you can see the beach was packed!
We had a wonderful view of the water when it wasn’t invaded by others :)
They had several swimmers and kids enjoying the water. YES, i got in the water and it felt great!
This pigeon was even enjoying the beach he would walk around and right up to blankets searching for some food.
YES, that is my red neck hubby. I brought his swimming trunks but he has a sore on his knee so he thought it best to not to uncover it. He didn’t get into the water he just enjoyed putting his toes in the sand.
This ship was wayyyy out there
On our way home we stopped a Mexican build your own place to eat. I had a burrito that was huge. I got brown rice, peppers and onions, pinto beans, lettuce, cheese, steak and mild tomato mix. The place was packed and we waited in a long line but we got lucky and found a table to sit and eat our dinner.
It was a great day and we had a blast at the beach although i do believe i may have gotten a bit too much sun! Oh that is gonna hurt for a few days. We came home and decided to go to church tonight so we could have tomorrow as a day to veg out at home and do nothing!!
Happy Summer!!

Shopping with the Ladies
I got up and got ready to go shopping with the ladies today. First on our to do list was stop by a good Goodwill store and then the Christian book store. I was a bad girl at the Christian book store. I purchased several CD’s I've been looking for and a book on prayer. We went to some big mall but i forgot the name of it. We had lots of fun. Although i didn’t buy anything at the mall other then my lunch which i was a good girl. Since it had been suggested to go to Tony’s for dinner i only had a side order of a veggie salad that consisted of tomatoes, onions, peppers and cucumbers with a light Italian dressing.
I forgot to post this picture of my pretty toes! Yes, i had my very first pedicure Monday so my toes would look good for my date night. It was wonderful and I've had already told hubby if he doesn’t give me one i will be going to get them. OH it felt so good!!
I hadn’t posted a picture of where we are parked since Mark and Dixie arrived. As you can see we are nestled in between other campers.
We did end up going out to dinner with the gang and i had a Philly Cheese Steak, it was good and different. This had a tomato base sauce, peppers, onions and mushrooms with cheese. It was really good.

Being Lazy and helicopters flying around
Miami, FL
Not really much been going on the last couple of days. Just cleaning and the basic day to day things. Although i have to admit i am truly enjoying the warmth again. Temps have been wonderful reaching the low 80’s. YES, this is how winter is suppose to be. Oh yea there was some excitement yesterday i forgot.
I was outside and heard a helicopter. I look up and there are 3 of them flying around. One was pretty low. Apparently it had something to do with the church here but i don’t know what. I know that one was a police helicopter and another was a news one. Hmm think i may have gotten on TV? As they were flying all around i was out there taking pictures .. i may have been on candied camera and didn’t even know it … Earlier today there was 5 cop cars here. Theft and other crimes appear to be high here as this is a somewhat less desirable neighbor hood. Hey what can i say they still need to be reached out to, witnessed to and God says we are to be servants and to tell everyone about him. I missed the late night news as i was in bed asleep before it came on .. what can i say this warmth sure makes a person sleepy :)
Today RVer Peggy have a making scones demonstration. Then it was time to go home and get some lunch. After lunch it was time for the RV women devotions. It was held at Dixie’s rig and Evia gave the message and what a great message it was. It was on accountability. Very eye opening. We had some wonderful snacks of sugar cookies (Dixie made) and they were so good, scones that Peggy made, wonderful and cherries and grapes that Jan brought. Dixie had a cute set of tea cups and yes hot tea, coffee or ice tea was served. We had prayer for several prayer request and needs we knew about and then we finished with visiting and having a great time. It was a great afternoon.
Later we walked over to Napa (since it’s so far .. right next door) to see if they could check our truck batteries as the truck is struggling to start when it’s cold. They said they could to bring the truck over so we came home got the truck and headed back .. sure enough one of the batteries was not working. So we purchased 2 new batteries .. Ughhh almost $300 bucks! Sure hope that fixes the problem .. if not we have a appointment made at the local dealer to get it looked over. Praying this fixes our problem as we seem to have to put lots of money into this thing the past few months.
It was back home to get some dinner .. we had stir fry tonight and then to just relax the rest of the evening.

Happy Valentines Day!
Miami, FL
I got up and got ready to go shopping with my friend Bev .. Uh Oh she is having frig problems show our shopping trip was delayed a bit. After lots of calling Bev was ready to go so off to Ross’s and DD’s we went. I purchased several new rugs that actually match my home. (I’ve been using the rugs that came out of our motor home which clashed big time but the cheap skate i am… hehe) I also got a new pair of pants and shoes for tonight to go with my new shirt and jewelry :)) We got home just barely enough time to get myself ready for my date tonight.
The RVer’s met and we headed off on our dates with our wonderful hubby’s. We arrived at the Jungle Queen in Fort Lauderdale and got in line to get our tickets and then to load the boat. We doing a dinner cruise aboard the Jungle Queen. http://www.junglequeen.com/ After the boat was loaded it was off we go. We got to see million dollar homes and yachts. Wow, there sure is some rich people here in Florida. Our captain told us who either owned the homes or who the built the homes. He said around here they just tear down beautiful homes to build bigger and better homes. Some of the homes had 3 guest houses! After about 45 minutes on the cruise we arrived on the island to a wonderful meal of BBQ Ribs, Chicken and Shrimp with all the trimmings. It was a good meal and after our meal we had entertainment. After the show was over it was time to load up and return back. We got home around 11 PM. It was a great Valentines day. Sorry but i forgot my camera. Although i did take some pictures with my friend Bev’s she just hasn’t gotten me copies yet. Once i get them i will upload them for you to see. We purchased this picture of us that they took of us before loading the boat. If your ever in the Fort Lauderdale area and want a fun thing to do .. this is definitely worth the money .. we loved it.
Hope your Valentines Day was as great as mine. We are really enjoying being here in Miami, FL.

Fort Lauderdale Beach
Miami, FL
Oh baby we woke up to 51 degrees and it's cold!!!
We put on some warm clothes and got ready to spend our day in Fort Lauderdale, FL
Friends Ray and Bev invited us to go with them for breakfast on the beach!
This beach was a 100 years old last year. Since it was so chilly we chose to eat inside. Hubby and Ray had pancakes, i had Crepes and Bev had Eggs, potatoes and toast. It was a fabulous breakfast and the price was awesome. Only $2.99 .. what a deal esp since the servings were huge and i couldn’t even eat all mine.
Hubby and I at the beach. Yes, i had my winter coat on as it was still chilly
Ray and Bev on the beach
This is a fabulous beach much better then South Pointe in Miami
the waves were just rolling in and we spent several hours enjoying the view as we walked along the stores
Around noon we left the beach and head to a huge Flea Market. Was it ever a great Flea market, i got several new pieces of jewelry to go with my new blouses i purchased. Wow, i’m doing good here and the best part is i got excellent deals that i just couldn’t pass on.
We came later in the afternoon and i was exhausted so i put on my pj’s and spent the rest of the evening curled up and resting.

Holocaust Museum and South Pointe Park
Miami, FL
This morning we got up and went with the group of RVers to Panera Bread for breakfast. Hubby and I shared a huge Cinnamon Roll. After leaving there we headed to the Holocaust Musuem.
The entrance and a quote from Anne Frank “Then In Spite of Everything, I Still Believe that people are really good at heart”
This turtle was swimming in the pond
This wall started with the history of the Holocaust
then this long wall went on with illustrations of things that happened during the Holocaust
It’s hard to see but Poland lost 1,000,000 Jews.
This scripture was on the was as you rounded a corner “Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil for thou art with me Psalm XXIII
This hall way was blocked of off
Then came another wall of the millions that lost their lives
This wall had 57 different ones that was full with names
This beautiful water lily was blooming
another statue
another Anne Frank quote behind this sculpture “Ideals, dreams and cherished hopes rise within us only to meet the horrible truth and be shattered”
This bird was enjoying a beautiful day
At the end of the musuem this tribute to the those who lost their lives
In memory of
the six million
Jewish victims of
the Holocaust
this statue sat in the middle of the pond
the beautiful trees you walk under while seeing the wall with all those who lost their lives
This bench is dedicated to those who created this memorial in 1989
as you leave the memorial this is the last statue that you see
Hubby and I in front of the pond
The group of RVers L – R Hubby, Ray, Bev Mark, Dixie, Peggy, Dave, Margie and Jim
This is a very sad place but it’s also very humbling. It’s a place that will tear at your heart to see what these Jews suffered.
Pictures of the outside of the Museum
Several times while driving and at the museum we seen the bikers, they were doing some kind of event.
After leaving the museum we headed to Miami South Beach
these boats are babies compared to the ones we passed on our way to South Miami, we saw some huge house boats or yachts what ever they call them.
We took a walk along the walk way along the beach
We saw boats ..
a Pelican
High rises
beautiful palm trees
scuptures
This is the city of Miami .. it was a bit foggy
another boat
a duck
condo’s
People enjoying the beach
Yes i even took my shoes off and was in the water. My first time seeing the Atlantic Ocean!! What can i say, i was so excited!! The water was chilly the first time i put my feet in but it wasn’t long it felt good
This beach is not kept clean like i thought it would be. There was trash and seaweed on it. The water is beautiful and more blue then green like the Gulf of Mexico
This beach is called South Pointe Beach and Park
on our walk back people were eating lunch
After walking the beach we were all getting hungry again so we headed to Bayside .. on our drive over we got to see the cruise ships that were docked
We went by the American Airlines Arena
which is the home of the Miami Heat
I love the road here .. well the design .. definitely not the traffic!!
We arrived at Bayside and it cost 10 bucks to park in their parking lot. Everywhere you go here you either have to pay for metered parking or their outrageous parking fees.
Christopher Columbus welcomed us
this neat looking boat sat in the bay
all kinds of transportation the hop on hop off
hard rock cafe
We didn’t go to hard rock, we decided on bourbon chicken, fried egg rice and veggies and it was wonderful, this is the view we had on the deck we ate on
they also had boat rides, one was a speed boat and the other
Island Queen .. we passed as we have a boat ride planned (more on that later)
They had this huge neat tree, it’s called a Banyan Tree, it measures over 75 feet tall and is about 100 years old. The tree’s roots descend from the branches and once on the ground will develop into another trunk. Native to India many Banyan tree seedlings were imported to South Florida in the late 1800’s. These trees can grow up to 100 feet in height and live approximately 1,000 years.
Bubba Gump which was famous in Forest Gump.
another neat looking boat
lots of little shops .. such a huge variety and a huge flea market
this tourist boat was coming in to dock right in front of us. Right before it got close we were watching a Manatee
It was another great day and it was great to spend it with such wonderful RVers
We had a great day!
