I woke to a cool dreary looking day. My back is beginning to feel the effects of all the rain and the cool weather. Hubby got me settled in on the couch and then headed off fishing.
He did pretty good and caught his limit on his first trip. It’s amazing how he can get his limit when he thinks he won’t get to go again that day. He was worried about me.
I am glad to say that we didn’t have any rain today and tomorrow the sunshine is suppose to return. I’m excited to sunshine. I spent my entire laying around on the couch. Resting my back. Hubby decided to take advantage of our last day of peace and quiet and just being plain lazy.
Tomorrow the kids start arriving and look out. The campgrounds are really getting packed with campers and ATV’s are everywhere. Lots of noise.
Happy Summer!!

A Dreary Day
I slept in as there really wasn’t much else to do. Then I got up and got a couple loads of laundry going. I have basically did nothing today. I rode up to the store with hubby to get some fishing supplies. He bought some at Wal-mart yesterday but they failed to put them in my cart. I called and have to bring my receipt in next time I’m in there.
Foggy crossing in the Foggy campground
From all the rain here all the crossings are closed due to high water.
This is normally the swimming hole where the adult and kids enjoy cooling off on a hot day. No way of doing that now with the high and rushing water.
Here is the Frank Shore crossing in wilder campground
We did get some rain and after the rain the sun came out and I went fishing with hubby. Well he fished and I took pictures. He finished catching his limit for the day.
These pictures are of the spring at the handicap fishing area.
The spring is really roaring water out of it.
The bank in the above picture has caved off
Yes it has rained off and on most of the afternoon. Hubby went fishing while the sun was out and I played online. Then came the rain and I spent my time curled up on the couch reading a book.
He caught a couple fish and got home right before the rain came. I’m hoping he gets enough fish for a mess soon. I love to eat fish.
This is Jim Bean crossing on the other side of Wilder, The picture of hubby show's what the bank used to look like.
These pictures are what it looks like now .. As you can see there used to be a high bank. Wow .. it leveled it all off.
Where the rocks are sticking out is where I used to sit in my lawn chair and read while hubby fished.
As you can see .. now it’s where hubby stands to fish and I have to sit way back. The picture below show’s how far back the water goes.
This is another of hubby’s fishing holes and it used to be nothing but brush and I couldn’t get down to it. The water has cleared it all off and now I can get to it.
We came home and then we went to visit friends and yes it rained again. We had to go inside their camper it rained so hard but fortunately for us it didn’t last that long. Our satellite keeps going in and out from the wind blowing the trees. Hubby has it aimed between 2 trees to get signal. Before we knew it was bedtime. It’s amazing how fast the days go here.

Relaxing
I was awake at 7 AM! Hubby went to go fishing and I just relaxed and played online. Hubby wasn’t gone to long as the water is really up and roaring from the inch or more rain yesterday. Hubby decided to play with our satelitte some more and this time he moved it in front of our camper. After playing with it he finally got it to come in. I have a happy camper.
We decided a trip to town to get groceries was in order since the fishing is no good right now. We purchased the needed things for when the kids get here for the holiday weekend. Ughh .. $16 Dollar Tree, $28 Country Market, $62 Wal-mart and $76 at Aldies Total $182. I get so grumpy when I have to go grocery shopping. It’s horrible the prices. Between fuel and food I do not know how families do it with payments and all.
After our groceries were put away hubby went fishing and I worked on a baby quilt.
The top is finished and ready to be put together and quilted. I still need to get some material to match the frog material for the backing and then I will quilt it.
Of course we had rain today. We watched the tornado that hit Oklahoma City and kept an eye on the weather for our area. Later in the evening we went to visit friends Deb and Rick and then it was home to watch some TV before retiring for the night.

The rain has found us again
We watched the weather on the local TV channel and the internet when we could get a strong enough signal for the computer to work. We decided not to head to the shelter and so i put on my jammies and went to bed. It’s been a long day and I hadn’t slept good in 2 nights.
We woke this morning to a dreary looking day (no sunshine) It wasn’t long and the rain found us and then the tornado sirens were going off again. They had us in a tornado warning so we headed to the shelter but we were fortunate that all we got was rain. It hasn’t stopped raining since.
The damage from all the flooding Easter is still present. Lots of work to be done here. The creeks are still flooding and lots of the trails are closed.
Seems no matter where we go the cold and rain follow us. It has rained all day and night long and it doesn’t appear to be any relief in site. Have i said I’m so tired of rain?
We were invited to dinner at our good friends Rick and Deb. Deb is an excellent cook. We had meat loaf, mashed tators, gravy and green beans. It was delicious .. thanks Deb.
We came home early to let the dogs out when the rain slacked off but since it picked up again we decided to stay home and not go back visiting. Instead i got a shower and lazy around my back is starting to feel the cold and rain and it’s not liking it.

On the road
It was a ruff night of sleeping for me. My back decided that it was ready to give me fits and i was up until after 4 AM until my med’s and the heating pad kicked in to relieve the pain.
The plan was to be up and on the road by 8 AM but since i had a ruff night I didn’t get up until about 7.45 AM. Hubby everything almost done and all i really had to do was get my computer packed and get dressed.
We were hooked up and on the road by 8.40 AM. 293 miles of driving to reach our destination. The sun is out and it is a beautiful morning so far. I pray the weather stays this way.
We wasn’t on the road long when we ran into construction. It seems St. Louis is always working on something.
We arrived safe and sound and the clouds have moved in and it’s cooler here in Missouri then when we left Illinois.
We got setup and visited with friends we hadn’t seen since we left here last fall. Of course the weather has to turn nasty and right now tornado warning sirens are going off as were under a warning. Looks like bad weather has once again followed me.
Our cell phones are down .. it keeps telling us all circuits are busy. My internet is barely working enough to view the weather channel. I will post more later tomorrow.

Ready to Roll
Ughh I woke up at 5 AM this morning with my back hurting. Around 5.30 AM a light rain started but didn’t last long. I went back to bed around 6 Am and slept until around 8.30 AM.
We are heading to Missouri tomorrow. I was happy to see the rain was gone and it the sun is even trying to peek out. Please please sun come out and stay so Pennie can go out and play.
It was a busy day of getting all the last minute things done to roll out in the morning. It’s been a beautiful day for getting everything we need done. I did my morning rounds as the camp host and of course that involved visiting.
Washing of the truck and camper. While washing the camper the fenders on our camper were loose so a trip to town to get new screws. Now their secure and some needed caulking was done. My internet/cell phone antenna was taken down. After dinner we got our showers out of the way and the last of my laundry was finished so now the sewer and water are unhooked. The cabinets and everything else inside is secured and ready to roll.
All that needs to be done is the morning is pack my computer, unhook the satellite and electric, bring the sides in and hook up.

Warm weather has Arrived
I got up early and scrubbed my kitchen and bathroom floors as they needed it. I wanted to make sure the rain was done before i did it. It’s another beautiful day and I am enjoying having my windows open and letting some nice fresh air in. I don’t know about anyone else but after being shut up after awhile our home gets stale smelling and smells so good when i can open the windows and let our home air out. There is a nice warm breeze.
I had 2 new birds at my feeder this morning. They were enjoying what i had to offer.
I have been working on getting things moved and into their rolling positions. It takes me longer then most people to get ready to roll as with my disability i have to work a bit and then rest. I also spent a bit of the day trying to catch up on other blogs i enjoy following. I have been neglecting them this week.
After lunch it was on to running errands of trying to get the housing fixed again, picking up some last minute things we need before we head out on Sunday. Sunday is our target day of hitting the road. Of course that is weather permitting because the rain is suppose to move back in later tonight and rain all through next week.
When we got home hubby went to work on trying to once again fix my washer. I emailed Splendid and i haven’t heard anything back from them. I have the feeling the reason being is they have no answer for what I'm suppose to do. I’m praying my Mr. Fix it has come up with something. I have a load going now and only time will tell.
This afternoon the sun has left and it’s clouding up like rain could set in .. we had lots to get done outside to get ready to roll. Put the awning in, pick up the outside rug. We took my table and chairs and a few other things to my friend Wanda’s campsite to store until we return sometime later in July. I put my feeders away ( i wanted to wait until sometime tomorrow as i hate taking my birds feeder from the birds, but i was afraid of the rain so i went ahead and took them down) Our neighbors Ed and Barb are suppose to be in Monday or Tuesday and Barb will put out her feeders when she gets here so they will be feed soon.
Gabe came and got the 4 wheeler and so all that is left to do tomorrow is the last minute things. It’s almost 10 PM and I'm hitting the shower and off to bed.
