The sun is out

I was up most of the night with my back and so i slept in this 9 am! I’m so glad to see the sun shining today. It’s warming up a bit but still not to my liking.

Here is the wreath i made. It’s not the greatest but it works for me.

Today would have been my father in-laws birthday if he were with us today. Hubby was a bit on the sad side thinking of his dad. Although he no longer in pain and in heaven. We miss you very much!

We decided to go out for dinner tonight with friends Randall and Janice. We had a great time and then was back home and just relaxing and trying to stay warm. It’s going to be another cold one tonight … brrr … Old man winter go away!!

A Skylight

Brrrr .. it’s cold outside! The sun doesn’t seem to want to come out today and it’s really cold. I’m sick of the cold but it appears old man winter has finally found us.

Is this a new trend of a sky light or is it a hole in the roof? Oh no .. there is church tonight and we are going to need a roof and heat??

We went to the Wednesday night potluck dinner and i had some very tasty Taco Soup. It hit the spot with the cold temps. Since they didn’t get the roof back on over the hole in the roof church was held in the fellowship hall. Yes, at least we have heat that isn’t going to go out the roof. Services were good.

They have really come a way since i posted pic’s .. yep most of the roof has the sheeting on it .. it’s amazing to watch the changes.

After church i came home and went to bed as i wasn’t feeling good. Yep .. the back isn’t liking this cold weather either.

It feels like Christmas!

Wow .. it’s cold here! It got into the 20’s last night and today is suppose to be in the high 40’s. We are having a cold spell! Don’t you know i do not like cold?? Please send me some warmth. I’m beginning to think that no mater where i try to escape the cold it’s no use as it follows me wherever i may go.

I spent most of the day inside yesterday so i could stay warm. I made a pot of potato soup to help keep us warm.

Last night i did ride the church van and go to the wm meeting. We had a wonderful time and the food afterwards was soooo good. Lots of great dessert .. Yep my favorite foods.

Today it was another cold morning but the sun came out and it warmed up into the low 50’s although it was still cold. Tonight they are talking another cold night and looks like it’s another night of the letting the water drip to keep from freezing.

It’s suppose to warm up a little bit but then another cold front is going to be coming again. They said earlier that this is an more then usual cold spell and that last year the cold winter in history didn’t get this cold this early. Ughhh .. i’m thinking not a good sign … old man winter please go away and stop following me.

I made a pot of Chili today as it was another day of needing a hot food to keep us warm. I spent my afternoon putting up some more decoration and i have all but my wreath finished.

I made these bows and it surprised me how they actually turned out. I’m not a crafty person.

I love sitting at night with just the tv and christmas lights on. It’s so comfy and relaxing for me.

Invitation to Lunch

After Church this morning we were invited to one of the members home for lunch. We had a wonderful meal and once again we ate too much.

We visited for sometime and getting to know Mary. Around 3.30 pm we thought we should head back to our home.

We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing and then back to church. The youth pastor gave the service tonight and he did a good job. We really enjoyed it. After services it was back home.

A Nice Day

Today was a beautiful day. It started out a bit on the nippy side. After lunch I was invited by Janice and Lonna to do a bit of shopping. We went to the Dollar Tree and Wal-mart. We had a great afternoon and I purchased a few more Christmas decorations.

Later that evening we had all planned to go out to eat some all you can eat catfish. Plus it was Lonna’s birthday. Lonna thought we had all forgotten but in truth we had told the waitress it was her birthday. So when they came out clapping and with a balloon she didn’t think it was for here until they turned the corner and that is when it hit her. She got embarrassed and blamed her hubby and of course he was just as surprised.

Here is the 8 of us. We had a great time and after some good visiting we returned home and spent the rest of the evening in our homes.

Decorating for Christmas

As I mentioned a few days ago I purchased some Christmas decorations and so i spent part of my morning and early afternoon decorating for Christmas. I still need to pick up a few more things as i didn’t get enough to finish.

Our evening was spent relaxing and watching tv as it is a bit on the cool side.

Roof is coming along

The roof is really going along good and as you can see in these photos the room upstairs is going to be a very nice size. No .. I did not go up there and take these .. I got one of the guys to take my camera up and get me some shots.

After lunch we met friends Sonny and Sylvia at their home and we went shopping in Mobile and then it was out to dinner. We ate at Red Lobster, I had surf and turf .. grilled shrimp and peppercorn sirloin steak, baked potato and salad. It was so good. Hubby had some type of seafood platter and he said it was very good. We got home a bit after 10 pm and then it was on to bed. We had a wonderful time.
