Satellite?

I had to get up earlier then normal as the Dish Network guy called a little after 7 AM to get directions and make sure he had the correct address.  He arrived a little after 8 AM and went to work on getting our satellite working.  A little after 10 AM he had it working great and all was well in our home again.  YESSSS .. I’ve been missing my Hallmark Channel and hubby has been having withdrawals from his History and Discovery Channels.  We can get several stations here on our antenna but let’s be honest .. they stink!

I took the dogs on a walk around 11 AM and when i returned home, NO TV!  Ughhh i tried several things that i knew to do from past experiences and no luck.  I finally called the number the installer left me and no answer and he didn’t return my message so i called the company number.  We tried the same thing i had already done but as you know you have to satisfy them that you do it with them.  Once that was done they said they would send the guy back.

Diane called and said she needed to run into town to get a few things for tonight and i needed some things as well.  I rode with her.  The satellite guy called and is on his way.  Finally he got us up and going again.  It was one of our cable’s that was bad.  That is why hubby would hit it and lose it.  No wonder he couldn’t get it to work.  Oh well .. I’m just thankful all is well again in our house hold .. I have my Hallmark Channel again!

Tonight’s dinner potluck was Mostoccoli, garlic bread, sweet potato casserole, corn and Pecan Pies.  Another yummy meal, of course we had to play games, tonight’s choice of games was Mexican Train.  David and Amy joined us for dinner and games.  We had another great day here in LA

Shopping Again!

I woke up and got things straightened up and a load of laundry going.  Then I took the dogs on a walk.  They have a nice concrete side walk around the area and it makes walking for me so much easier then trying to walk in the gravel or dirt.  The dogs are enjoying their daily walk.  The weather hasn’t been bad, not what i prefer but not bad, it’s tolerable.  It’s been chilly in the morning but by 10 AM when i am finally up and moving about the sun has come out and warmed up to a nice temp.  YES, i require long sleeves but normally a coat isn’t needed.  By lunch hubby is shedding to short sleeves, but not me .. i’m still required to wear more clothing then i prefer.

After lunch friend Diane needed to run into Alexandria and do a bit of shopping, so i rode along with her since i needed to go by the post office to mail a letter.  First on the list and most importantly was the RV store (they needed a black water handle), then went to a consignment store but it was priced way to high.  Even with their discounts, not for me.  Next we went to Big Lots and spent some time and then a quick trip to Dollar General.

We got home in time to gather our dinner items and get them together.  We’ve been having potluck dinners and tonight was Taco Soup (Jean) and Potato soup (Diane) and I provided shredded cheese and crackers .

After dinner we had a pecan cracking party.  Tommy and Diane brought 5 gal of Pecans from home.  Tommy and Snuffy cracked them while hubby and us ladies picked out the pecans.  We got that done and still had time to play a game of cards.

It was getting late and we made it home in time to relax a bit before heading to dream world.  Were having a busy and great time here in LA with good friends.

Another RV Couple Arrives

We woke to nippy temps.  It was 34 degrees .. brrrr the cold has found us   I got up this morning and needed to do some cleaning.  So that was done and right as i finished more RVer’s arrived.  Friends Tommy and Diane arrived.  We caught up and then they got settled in... the sun came out and it warmed up nicely to where a light jacket was needed.

We had a potluck for dinner, Jean made dumplings, fried corn bread and a upside down pineapple cake, Diane made fired and stewed squash, onions, peppers and tomatoes and turnip greens.  I donated to the cause.  They did the cooking and i helped clean up.  It was good, well except the greens.  I had never had fried corn bread but it was good.

After dinner we played cards and before we knew it, once again it was time to head home and get ready to call it a night.

Shopping Day

I was woke up to another day of Roo’s  little adventures.  Hubby had let her out to potty and she came back in but he didn’t shut the door, he just pulled it to because i was still sleeping.  Well he went into the bathroom and Roo started barking and YESSS out the door she went.  She is gone in a flash of lightening.  I got  up, threw on some clothes and off to looking for her we went.  Well we didn’t find her and it was cold so i gave up.  I decided she chose to leave this good home, if she comes back okay and if not, then so be it.  Hubby was not happy with me.  about 20 mins later we saw her out the window, she was heading home.  At least this time she didn’t need a shower :)  Happy to be home even though she was scolded and knew she was in trouble.

I re-dressed and got ready for my shopping day.  Jean and I rode into Alexandria to do some shopping.  First we went to Hancock’s Fabric and we both purchased some material that was on sale.  Bed, Bath & Beyond, Michael’s, Bath, Body & Works, Mac’s fresh meat market and before we knew it our day was full and it was time to get back home.

Dinner tonight was simple .. hamburgers and baked tators and then we played cards with friends Snuffy and Jean.  Before i knew it our day was over and it was time to get ready for bed.  Another great day here in LA

Happy Veteran's Day

To all those who have lost loved one, served and

 Vetern's Day

without your service I would not have the freedom that i have to day.  I thank you for all that you have gave and may God Bless you all.

We got up and got ready for church.  Today we attended services at First Assembly in Alexandria, LA.  After church we headed out to eat some lunch at Piccadilly.  It’s different type place to eat as it’s like a cafeteria line and you tell them what you want and they fix your plate.  The food was great and reasonable.  For the 2 of us we ate for $11.53 cent plus tip.  We came out of Piccadilly’s and it was raining.  Just a drizzle so it’s going to be another lazy day.

With the rain setting in and you all know what rain does to me .. it was a good day to retire to bed for a nap.  I slept a few hours and then i got up and made some zucchini bars.  I have several bags that my friend Wanda (thanks Wanda it made some great bars!)

Dinner was just polish sausage as we had a heavy lunch.  Later Snuffy and Jean invited us to play cards.  Before we knew it, it was time to head home to surf the web and relax a bit before calling it a night.  I would like to close with this ….

A Lazy Day

I was awaken early this morning to a licking dog!  Roo had to go potty and when nudging doesn’t get you up, she licks you in the face.  Needless to say that got me up.  I may have been up but apparently i wasn’t awake as I hooked her on her collar and not her choke chain .. YESSS you guessed correct, when i went to put her back in .. there was no Roo, she was gone!!  I hurried to get dressed and woke hubby up and he got dressed and took the truck to look for her and i took the golf cart.  She must of heard the truck or my yelling because she came running to me.  Of course she was a sand ball and so that meant straight in to the shower!  Barely awake and moving i’m giving a dog a shower!  Once that was done she got scolded and she knew she was a bad dog cuz she puts her head down.

I decided it was going to be a lazy day for me because between the traveling, being busy and being woke up early i was exhausted which meant i was also grouchy and didn’t want to do anything.  I spent the day being lazy doing absolutely nothing. It’s an absolutely beautiful day with temp’s in the low 80’s.  It was a great day to have the door and window’s open as the humidity didn’t seem to bad and there was a nice breeze.  Later in the afternoon after lots of urging from the dogs, i took them on a walk.  While i was being lazy hubby worked on the satellite but with no avail, he finally gave up and i called to setup up an appointment with dish network, i do not have a happy hubby as they can not come until Thursday morning.  Several channels here just nothing on them on.

We went out to dinner at Fuzzies with Snuffy and Jean and had some wonderful fried catfish!  Oh it was so good!  NOOO .. no star sightings tonight :)  Then we came back and the guys finished working on their fire place and then we played a couple games of 13 and before we knew it, it was time to head to bed.
