Shopping day

Miami, FL

I got up early to get ready to roll by 9.30 AM.  Once again we had rain in the early morning and then it dried up, the sun came out and another beautiful warm day.  5 of us ladies loaded up in the van and headed out for our shopping day.  We went to Ross, DD’s, Trends, Good Will, Big Lots and American Thrift Store.  We had loads of fun shopping and i think everyone purchased something.  I got 2 new blouses and earrings.  They had some really good sales.  Lunch was Taco Bell.  I had the Nacho Taco Supreme. 
 
The guys didn’t stay home and be lonely, they all loaded up and visited a local RV dealer.  We came back home and had our 3 O’clock get together and then around 4 PM we all parted and went our way to get some dinner.

I made some Bologna Salad for dinner and after dinner i took Lexi out for a walk.  She wouldn’t leave me alone as she didn’t get her walk in yesterday.

The rest of the evening was spent doing nothing and resting from a long day.  Tomorrow friends Mark and Dixie are suppose to be arriving.  That will make 8 couples here. 

A Lazy Day

We woke up to the sound of rain hitting the roof of our home. 

Oh my it’s really coming down in buckets.

After the rain left the sun came out and dried up all the rain.  I spent my afternoon lounging outside enjoying the warmth of the sunshine.

We are nestled in and right now we do not have anyone in front of us.
 
We have other RVers around us.  At 10 AM and 3 PM everyday it’s gtg time for coffee and refreshments. 

Later in the afternoon we walked around the corner to a discount bread store and purchased some goodies.  Dinner tonight was mostacholli and bread rolls we purchased.  The evening was spent just relaxing and watching TV.  I’m also working on getting caught back on my laundry.

Super bowl Sunday!

We got up early today.  We are attending Trinity Church today.  Trinity church is located in Miami, Fl.  It’s an inner city church.  We were asked to attend the 9 AM Church service.  Yikes that is early.  I managed to get ready and we all gathered outside of the church.  We were seated in our reserved seats.  Wow this is one huge church.  They have 4000 members.  They have a Saturday night and 3 Sunday services.  The song service was awesome and today’s message was on SEX!  Yes, you read that correctly.  I’ve never been to a service on this topic but i have to admit it was good and in good taste.  Apparently their having a series all month long on Sex.  Today was on the top 10 reason being married is a good for a man. 

After services i came home and took a quick rest before the super bowl party started.   The RVers had a potluck super bowl party.  Once half time arrived we headed home as i was tired. Yes, i did see the ending of the game.  Way to go Giants!  Although i have to admit i was rooting for the Patriots.

Flea Market Day

We got around this morning and around 9.30 AM we headed out with friends Donnie, Dee, Les and Jan to a flea market.  We spent time walking around.  After we finished that Donnie needed to go by Home Depot and then it was close to time for lunch.  We went to Dynasty Buffet which is a Chinese.  We had a great lunch and spent time visiting.

After lunch we came home and a needed trip to Wal-mart to restock groceries for the week.  Ughhh $80!  Then we came home and took the dogs for a walk and spent the rest of the evening just relaxing.

Heading to Miami and Happy Birthday Larry

Today is my brother Larry's birthday.  Although it's going to be a tuff birthday as my dad is having surgery for bladder, kidney and prostate cancer today.  Praying all goes well. 

We got up this morning and finished getting things ready to roll.  We didn’t have much to do, pull the slides in, put the front jacks down and unplug from electric.  We stopped at the dump station and emptied the tanks and by 8 AM we were on the road.

It was a cloudy day and we would get rain for a minute or so and then it would stop.  We stopped and fueled up with diesel at the Pilot truck stop on the corner of 41/997.  With our RV pilot card and paying cash we saved 6 cents a gal.
 
It wasn’t long after getting fuel we were on 826 heading to Miami and once we got onto 826 here is what the traffic looked like.  Yikes Welcome to Miami, FL.

Several airplanes flew over or in front of us.  We could see the airport off the ramp.

We only had 65 miles to our new destination.  It took us almost 2 hours and that included getting fuel and being stuck in traffic.  Once we got past the airport exit the traffic cleared up and the rest of the trip was an easy sail until we turned of 441 to our street we needed.  A semi was coming out of a parking lot and had one side of the road blocked and we had to turn when the light turned and had the other side blocked as we couldn’t go where we needed as the semi was blocking our path.  Yes we had a traffic jam and lucky for us there was a big church parking lot open so we were able to swing in there and turn around to let the truck get out of way. 

We arrived where we needed to be and we had a problem.  The gate we needed to go in was locked.  A guy showed up and his keys wouldn’t work.  We waited for them to find out where the key was. Uh Oh that lock doesn’t belong there no one has a key.  My brilliant hubby got out the generator and his neat little cutter tool and cut the chain.  We all laughed and hubby said you can’t keep me out and can’t keep me in .. snicker
 
We got setup and my brother Ronnie called to tell me that my dad made it through surgery.  Thank you Jesus.  Please pray for a complete healing for my dad.  Later in the afternoon we spent time visiting with friends we hadn't seen in awhile and new friends.  Several of us decided to go out to dinner at TGIF.  We had burgers and fries.  Top picture L-R Jan, Les, Ray, Bev (looking down) bottom picture Dee, Donnie and hubby.

We got home and spent the rest of the evening just chilling out and relaxing.  We were both tired from a long day.  I was in bed by 9.30 PM.

Our Last Day in Big Cypress National Preserve

Ochopee, FL

Today was another beautiful lazy day that i spent outside lounging in my lounger reading a book.  I finished another book today and started a new one.

Several pulled out today but the park filled right back up.  This weekend is a big seafood festival but were not going to stick around for it.  I’m not a big seafood eater.

Later in the afternoon we took the awning down, put the bbq grill and lawn chairs up for our move tomorrow.  Later we got the inside all ready to roll for in the morning.  Our next destination is Miami Florida.  We do not have far to travel about 65 miles but we've been told the traffic will be brutal.  It should be interesting.

We’ve enjoyed our week in the Big Cypress and i would love to come back again.  The weather was absolutely wonderful and all week long the clothing was my favorite attire .. YEP .. T-shirt and shorts.  We’ve enjoyed our strolls around the campground and the hikes to see all the wild life.

Were sad to say good bye but were excited to see what our next adventure holds.  Dinner was egg sandwiches as i do not like to cook and have lots of dishes the day before were moving.  Since there really isn’t a place close to eat out we made it a simple dinner.

First day of February

It was another beautiful day here in Big Cypress National Preserve.  I spent my entire day just relaxing in my lounger reading a book.  I finished one book and started another one.

I’m still exhausted from yesterday and even though i was in bed by 8 PM and I didn’t get up until 8 AM I needed the entire day to recoup from yesterday adventures.

Dinner was bbq pork chops on the grill and grilled veggies .. the rest of the evening is being spent relaxing.  Tomorrow we will start packing up as we are pulling out on Friday to head to Miami.
