Gulf Breeze, FL
We woke up to a windy and cold morning. Temps are only in the high 50’s today. Since it was so cold out i was very slow to get moving.
Today is our last day here at Fort Pickens. So a needed trip to town to get diesel and go out to eat!
Yes, we’ve had to cook an entire week! In fact we haven’t been off the island since we arrived a week ago today.
I took some pictures of the road leaving the National Seashore and the condo’s along Pensacola beach .. very nice huh?
Pensacola bay is on one side and the other side is the wide open Gulf of Mexico .. beautiful water
The sun was shining and it was a great day for a drive. We stopped and looked at a few shops but to be honest .. I'm just not a big shopper. My opinion is most these shops are just tourist traps and I'm sure they are packed during the summer.
We found some diesel at Race Way and it was $3.65 a gal .. $80 and then it was time to look for a place to eat. Lots of choices but in the end we both voted for Chinese. We chose the Royal Palace and it was very good food. For both us of including drinks it was $18.70 plus tip.
After stuffing ourselves we headed back across the toll bridge which cost a $1 to enter and is free on leaving.
We decided to stop along the beach before arriving on the National Seashore property to check it out.
absolutely breath taking view .. there was barely any waves.
hubby was enjoying walking and picking up shells. We saw a few birds
see how clear the water is?
Unfortunately it was time to head home to start packing things up. It’s been an amazing time here and our week has flown by. This is definitely a place we’d like to come back to again.
We are departing tomorrow and heading toward Gainesville Florida for a few weeks. Tomorrow will be a good day to travel as it’s suppose to get near freezing tonight and be another cool day tomorrow and then it’s suppose to warm back up.
We didn’t really have to much to pack up but i have the inside ready to roll .. well except for our computers and they do not get packed until last :) All hubby has to do in the morning is unhook the satellite dish, electric and hook up the truck and we will be rolling on down the road to new scenery.
Happy Summer!!

Looking back on 2011
Gulf Breeze, FL
Happy New Year!!!
2011 started off with a very rocky start for me.
January was an emotional roller coaster ride
February turned into a better month
March our baby got engaged and our daughter in law got the job she has always wanted (way to go Heather)
April was an expensive month with a new AC and washer parts but we were reunited with our grandkids which is always the highlight of the spring
May, June and July was spent enjoying family and friends
August and September were slow months as commitments were fulfilled
October and November was filled with seeing family and friends
December the last month of the year was filled with excitement of the full time lifestyle, sadness, and mishap of repairs
We traveled 3454 miles this year with our home. We lost several dear friends, several repair mishaps, enjoyed spending time with family and friends, although i have to admit we didn’t add any new states to my list, we didn’t move around near as much as i prefer as we tended to stay put for longer periods of time. All in all 2011 was a good year to us and as i look back I'm thankful for all the blessings we received. My favorite part I’d have to say are the precious memories that we made with our grandchildren.
I look forward to the year of 2012, we plan to move around more often and not stay for longer period of time in one place, of course when it comes to seeing the grandkids how can we not spend more time in one place to see them. I pray it’s an even better year for us, our family, friends and all of you.

Last day of the Year
Gulf Breeze, FL
The day started off slow as it was foggy and a bit on the chilly side. Even though temps were in the low 60’s without the sun it felt a bit cool. I had forgotten to put our chairs away last night and they were very wet this morning from the dew and humidity this morning so there was no sitting outside.
Today Lexi just got her morning walk around the campground and it wasn’t until almost noon as the damp weather is not good on me. Once the sun came out we decided to take a walk down the boardwalk to the beach.
someone made a Christmas tree out of wild bird seed.
The water is getting closer
I really enjoy spending time on the beach and just listening to the waves
Hubby parked me in my lawn chair and he took a walk along the beach. We both were enjoying feeling the sand between our toes.
all of sudden it started getting foggy and we were not sure if it was fog or rain so we headed back home, the temps were dropping too.
I seen this wildflower on walk back home, there is a little bit of greenery but mostly just dead brush
we were parked at the store, the store always has a laundry mat in the back of it.
Were parked in Loop C-8
here is the over flow parking where we have to park our truck as our site isn’t big enough for our home and the truck.
it wasn’t long and the fog found our campsite too .. we had planned to go into Pensacola to the eat out and go to the Pelican drop but since the fog moved in we decided it was best to stay home. Plus i wasn’t feeling the best as the moister gets the best of my aching back.
Lucy was enjoying her daddy time … well until i woke her up by taking her picture
we ended up with a quiet dinner in our home and we took a evening stroll around the park, no stars tonight as the fog was heavy. Hope you all have a safe Happy New Year’s Eve.
