Beautiful Indian Summer Day

Today has started off to be a beautiful Indian Summer Day.

 002  004

The birds are really enjoying their beautiful morning and the sunflower seeds we put out for them.  The other feeder they were picking out the sunflower seeds so we set up another feeder with just the seeds for the bigger birds.

006  008

This wood pecker should be stuffed!  He is so pretty and I have enjoyed watching them.

009 010

One of the wood peckers has a red ring on his head .. this one doesn’t hmm male and female?

013

I couldn’t resist taking a picture of the lake today.  It’s an over cast day with no sun but the temp right now is 62 degrees!

  006

We ran to town and picked up some more junk food .. yes that is all i have bought since being here is junk food .. basically for the kids but we got our junk food today for our road trip.  We also had to get our sticker for our camp plate it expires the end of December.  Filled the truck up with $93 worth of diesel.  Ouch!!

Then we came home and got everything we could ready to go .. it actually didn’t take very long at all!  Of course we’ve been living in the mode that if you get it out and use it, it goes back where you got when your finished.  Since we will be moving around more this winter we plan to live this way all winter long.   I packed up the grandkids toys and have them stored away until they return to visit.  Swept the floors, put the locks on the frig shelves in place, moved the ice cream to the refrigerator freezer, locked the cabinets and everything is in place.  Hubby has taken down the bird feeder (their not happy) back jacks (yes we move now), emptied the sewer and now all we have to do in the morning is the last minute things .. hubby will have to unhook the satellite, electric cords and hook the truck up while i put away the coffee pot and a few last minute things and then we will be ready to roll to warmer climate.  The dogs are excited they know their going to get to travel.

Our afternoon and evening is being spent just relaxing and were not sure what time our son Gabe is coming to visit for one last time.  We haven’t really gotten to see him much this fall.  When we were home in October he was busy farming.

Were Grandparents today!!

Yes, the grandkids were up early.  Toby came upstairs and said .. Grandma it’s not dark anymore, time to get up and play .. how precious is that?  So Grammy got up and we let sissy and Papa sleep in.
001 002
The sun came out and the kids were itching to get outside as soon as it was warm enough for Papa to take them for a walk in the woods.  Grandma enjoyed some quiet time :))  Toby would slide down the slide and then he’d walk back up it until he slipped and fell and hurt his chin.  Of course Grammy kissed it and made it better and then we went on to play on something else.
003
Hailey has grown so much .. i love this picture of her
010 011
Grandma got to take the kids to the park while Papa rested.  It’s amazing how a few years change.  Hailey didn’t use to be able to do the monkey bars by herself, we would have to hold her up.  Now she is a big girl and can do them all by herself.  Way to go sis!!
012
Toby can swing on the chain and he thinks he is big like sissy.
 014 017
Hailey likes the bars .. Toby likes to swing .. At first he waited for me to push him
021015
But he got bored of sitting still so he had to change the way he swung
  023026
Grammy let them take their shoes and socks off and enjoy the sand
 027   029
It was cute because we pretended we were on the beach.  Hailey told me to think of us all playing on our beach while I'm gone this winter.  We will miss our lil precious jewels.
030
We’ve watched cartoons, ate lots of junk food, rode bikes, played in the rocks, taken walks and enjoyed tickle time.
032 033
It was time to get all the kids stuff together and head to Grandma’s (hubby’s mom) house for dinner.  We are going to help eat up her left overs.  We had a good last visit and said so long ...  It’s always a sad times as the tears are always flowing.

We came home, showered and it wasn’t long it was time to head to bed for a busy day tomorrow.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Carlinville, IL

Today is a very special day.  We are spending Thanksgiving with our family.  We haven’t done this for several years.
ccdgivtha
Remember today is not only about spending time with family, eating too much wonderful food, but it’s also about being thankful for all your blessings.

Can you think of some things that you are thankful for?  Here are some thing that I am thankful for …

free to worship and proclaim my faith and love for the Pilot of my life .. Jesus Christ

for my wonderful husband .. God blessed me and to be honest he gave me a wonderful man that i am not deserving of most of the time.

for my family and friends

for my health .. even though i still have health issues .. i am so thankful for the miracle i have received .. after  years of being bed ridden i am able to get out of bed, sit up, walk, travel and enjoy life once again.

for my wonderful home

for all the little things in life that i have

I have learned to accept each day as it comes, if it’s a good day .. wonderful, if it’s a bad day then i know that i can get through it and a good day is around the corner .. I have a plaque on my wall and i read it daily .. it says ..

God grant me the Serenity to accept the things i cannot change,
Courage to change the things i can
and the Wisdom to know the difference.

I could have slept in this morning but i was awake by 7.30 AM .. hmm i think my grand kids have gotten Grandma on a schedule getting up early .. hmm

Around 10 AM we were on our way to hubby’s mom to spend Thanksgiving with family.  (Can you believe i took my camera but forgot to get pictures)  :((

We had Turkey and all the traditional things that go with it.  My mother in law did a great job .. thanks mom.  We spent the afternoon enjoying the kids and each other.  Finally it was time to say good bye and then we stopped and picked up the Grandkids bags as they came home with us to spend the night at Papa and Grandma’s.

We spent the evening enjoying being grandparents.  I close tonight blog by

Another Day with Grand kids

We were awaken early this morning with the arrival of the grand kids.  It was another fun filled day enjoying spending time with our grand kids.  We are really blessed and thankful to have this time with them.  It’s hard to believe how fast our week is going by.

We spent the day playing with toys, watching cartoons, going to the park and just enjoying our time together.  Their dad arrived around 5 PM to get them and then we made a quick trip to Wal-mart to stock up on junk food for tomorrow night and Friday.

We are going to spend Thanksgiving with our family and the grand kids will be coming home with us to spend the night and sometime on Friday their parents will pick them up and it will be our last time together until after winter.

Tonight is going to be an evening of relaxing and resting up for tomorrow.  We are really blessed and thankful to live the lifestyle that we do.  We are blessed to have our family and we are thankful to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior for all he has given us.

Wishing you all a blessed day and ccdhthvegt

Nestled in

The rain has arrived.  It started raining during the night and it was a ruff night for me.  I went to bed around 9.30 PM and was back around 11 PM with my back and legs hurting.  I knew the rain was on the way.

001

I slept in this morning since we didn’t have any grands and this is what I saw when i let the dogs out to go potty.

 002

Yep water everywhere, signs of winter have appeared.  The leaves are gone on most of the trees and you can feel it in the air that Mr. Winter is near by.  This weather is meant to nestle inside with a warm blanket.  In fact hubby and i have enjoyed our day rest and relaxation and doing absolutely nothing!

 005

It’s nice and peaceful here as there is no one around.  The campers left are stored here for the winter.  We are the only ones here.  The dogs are enjoying having the park all to themselves.  They can run and play free of a leash and potty where ever they want.

 025

They just are not enjoying the rain ..It’s been pretty chilly here, the sun has been nowhere to be found since we arrived and the sky is dreary and filled with rain.  It’s going to be another foggy night.

 023

As you can see we are nestled in for a short stay until after Thanksgiving.   Our departure date is set for Sunday Nov 27.  So far we are doing well on water.  We have electric and sewer here but no water.  We have filled our 5 gal jug at our son house the other night.

024

The  plans right now are were heading to Mississippi for the month of December and then Jan- March will be spent in Florida looking for warmth.  Of course as RVer’s our plans are always written in Jell-o and Esp since diesel is $3.99 a gal right now .. ouch!!

Bird Watching

Our LiL Man arrived this morning and we spent the day watching Dora, Sponge Bob and playing with tractors and trucks.  Later in the afternoon we seen several birds so LiL Man and Papa put my bird feeder out and it wasn’t long before we were able to watch the birds.

001  003

The birds were happy to get some feed.  We had fun watching them.  It was too chilly to go outside very long so we just played lazy and enjoyed our grandson.

007

Tonight is really chilly, drizzling rain and foggy out.  It’s a great night to stay inside and snuggle under a warm blanket.

After an afternoon of family it was time to head to our son Tyson house and help the grands put up their Christmas tree.  We had a great evening spending time with his family and Tyson made us spaghetti for dinner and it was great .. thanks Tyson

Finally after 8 pm and a long fun filled day it was time to head home.  We still had almost an hour drive home.  We got home and before long it was time for bed.  What a great day we’ve had and tomorrow will be more fun as our Grandson Toby is spending the day with us while his sissy is in school.
