The grandkids arrived early and so it was Papa and grandma time .. it was a nippy morning so we had to wait for it to warm up a bit before playing outside. Of course the kids find all kinds of things to do
The love playing on the steps and of course we had to get lots of hugs and kisses in. We got out their toys and spent our morning enjoying our precious jewels.
Finally it warmed up enough that Papa could stand to go outside with them and they went to the park and went down to the Lake. No walking in the woods as it’s deer season.
Later in the afternoon we ran into town to Wal-mart for a tire tube, they were out so we headed to Ace Hardware and they had one. Hailey got a thorn in her tire and ruined her tube so Papa to the rescue. Of course we had to swing by McD’s and get something to eat.
Toby was inspector and was making sure Papa put sissy tire back on correctly.
Finally the bike was finished and it was time to ride and play before it got too cold and dark.
After it got too cold out it was time to come inside and get warmed up with some hot chocolate. Of course we had to play some more. It was so much fun watching the kids try and tickle Papa and of course Papa would in turn tickle them. Toby our lil man is so ticklish it’s fun watching him.
We’ve ate lots of candy, drank lots of Pepsi and had a wonderful time making precious memories. Around 9 PM they were getting tired so it was shower time and get ready for bed. Grandma pulled the couch out and we put Thomas the Train in the DVD player and before long our lil man was sound asleep. He’s had a fun day with Grandma and Papa. It wasn’t much longer and Hailey was sound asleep and it was time for Grandma and Papa to hit the hay as well. The lil feet will be up early.
We enjoy spending time with our lil precious jewels and even though were surviving the cold .. a day filled with love, hugs and kisses is always worth it. It’s been a wonderful fun filled day and I'm so thankful for beautiful grandchildren.
Happy Summer!!

On the Road Again
Ughhh .. we were up early and that is not good for me. I did not want to get out of my warm bed, esp since this cold weather doesn’t have me sleeping very good and is killing my back and legs. Being the good sport that I am (year right) we were up early this morning and finishing up the last minute things before hitting the road. Poor hubby was outside this morning in the freezing cold. He had to unhook the satellite dish, put up the front jacks (we were already hooked to the truck) and unhook our electrical cord and hook the cord into the truck for lights.
First on the list today was to be at the RV Repair shop to get the 2nd recall on our Dometic fridge fire safety recall. NO i didn’t take any pictures because it’s only 35 degrees! I stayed inside our nice warm truck with the dogs … hehe
We were there before our 8 AM appointment and they got us in right away. By 8.40 AM we were on the road heading toward Illinois. YES .. we are silly for heading to even colder temps. That temporary insanity has left me and i keep wondering what in the world are we doing. I was laying in bed last night and i told hubby we should skip Illinois and head south now .. it’s just too cold for me.
We stopped not long after being on the road for a potty break and man is it ever cold! The dogs are looking at us like .. hey your going the wrong way silly .. were ready for warmer temps not colder.
We crossed the bridge and as we were doing so we crossed the Illinois state line .. Were back in our home state and closer to our precious grandkids.
275 Miles of traveling fighting a strong wind that weaved us from side to side we finally arrived at the campground around 2.30 PM and got nestled in on a cold winter day. We only have the electric and sewer hooked up, showers and potty flushing will be ran off of our fresh water tank since it’s so cold and the water is turned off. We will be carrying water in jugs for cooking and dishes. We are kind of dry camping.
The dogs were excited as they were at a familiar place and they all had to run to their favorite potty spot. It was cute to watch and then they couldn’t wait to get inside to get warm.
After getting all setup it was time to head to get some propane (were going to need the furnace) Wal-mart for the Grandkids favorite junk food and we filled up with diesel. Ughhh .. Diesel jumped from $3.64 to $3.89 that we paid yesterday in Springfield, MO to today’s price of $3.99 .. ouch!!
I made Chili for dinner last night and were having left over's tonight. Chili on a cold winter night. Tomorrow the grandkids will be here to spend the night. Yeppieeeee
The rest of the night is going to be spent snuggled up in a blanket next to the heater and watching Hallmark .. they have started their Christmas show .. Yeppie i love them.
Stay warm and until next time …

Getting Ready to Roll
This week has been busy .. Monday afternoon Anna and I went to Hobby Lobby (Anna) needed some material and later that evening we went to friends house for a great Italian dinner.
Tuesday was a day spent doing laundry and trying to get everything cleaned up before hitting the road. I washed bed covers, sheets, and rugs. Then i spent the night playing spice farkle with Jackson and Anna (hubby stayed home .. he was tired)
Today Anna and Jackson pulled out and are heading to Branson, Mo and then onto LA. Oh it’s so cold outside .. the wind is blowing and the temps are in the high 40’s. I have spent my day cleaning and packing things up. We are pulling out early on Friday morning.
We have an appointment at 8 AM to get the recall on our frig done and then were on our way to spend the week with our family before heading south for the winter.

Bass Pro
We got up early this morning and went out to breakfast with friends .. Yes i know .. were is my sanity going? I have to be crazy to get up and go out for breakfast.
We went to Hemmingway’s at the Bass Pro Shop in Springfield, MO. I have to admit I did enjoy watching the fish swim and they had some pretty ones.
The waitress took our picture ..not sure what she did as it didn’t turn out to good .. oh well L to R Hubby, Jackson, Ron, Dorothy, Anna and myself. It was good and the fellowship was wonderful.
After we finished eating we decided to walk around Bass Pro and when we got downstairs we were just in time to see the fish feeding demonstration. It was fun
Of course i had to go see my favorite thing there .. Yep this big boy/girl .. it’s the first time I've gotten to see it out of the water! I was so excited.
Of course they’ve got their Christmas display setup and it was fun enjoying the kids who came to see Santa already. They were getting an early start.
After hours and exhausted it was time for hubby to go to his favorite place .. yes the toy store .. geeze Christmas comes early for some. He needed some attachments for this little toy he purchased awhile back and since we are pulling out next week he wanted to get them now. Then it was on to the Battery Plus store .. Ouch $93 for a little bitty battery! We needed a new battery for our generator. Hand cranking that baby is no fun for hubby. Then we stopped at the Food 4 Less store and got some things. They had several good sales and hubby was so happy. He loves to grocery shop .. ughhh
Finally it was late in the afternoon and i was ready to head home to rest. Exhausted we came home and i rested before we were to head out to dinner with Jackson and Anna and from there we came back and played that game again .. ughhh Of course i didn’t win again tonight. We did enjoy our evening with friends and didn’t get home until 11.15 PM!

Exploring Ozark
Happy Veteran's Day to all those who has served our country. When you think of the lives lost, the lives affected for all that our military has given for our country it can bring tears to your eyes and pain in your heart. We have so many brave soldiers. Words can not describe the love in my heart for those who have sacrificed to serve this nation. Thank you!!
The sun has come out and temps rose to 60 today! After lunch we ladies decided to go looking around. We drove to Ozark, MO a few miles away. It’s a small little town with lots of nice cute little shops.
The town square has the court house in it like back home and this cute little gazebo.
It’s was a beautiful afternoon to walk and browse the shops. I didn’t purchase anything but did see several things i liked but just no place to put them.
We spent the evening play a card game called 13 with friends .. I despise this game but enjoy the fellowship.

Lambert’s Home of the thrown Rolls!
I woke up to the temps being 37 degrees and the wind blowing like crazy. I could barely hold the door open to let the dogs outside.
Once again it wasn’t a good night of sleep because of my aching back. No matter how i tried to position myself i just couldn’t get in a comfy spot to get any relief.
I looked at MS temps and it’s 73 degrees this AM. What was i thinking wanting to be home for Thanksgiving? I think i am going to have to claim temporary insanity .. hehe I am looking forward to spending the holiday with my family together, but I'm not liking this cold. Although i have to admit, i”m what my friends call a bad Penny. The rain and cold seem to follow me where ever i am. Just like Nick http://gypsyjournalrv.com/category/nicksblog/ if you need rain or want cooler temps just let me show up.
We headed to the air port to pick up our friends Jackson and Anna from the airport. We got there a bit before they got the luggage so we parked at the cell phone area to wait for them.
After picking them up we headed to Lambert’s the place known for throwing rolls.
Interesting bathroom signs
There rolls are wonderful and the food was okay .. I've had better. I got the chicken gizzards, fried apples and candied yams .. hubby got bbq pork steak, mashed potatoes, gravy and slaw. They brought around fried okra, and fried potatoes. It was expensive ($27.50 plus $6.00 tip) but at least i can say I've been Lambert’s in Ozark, Missouri.
After eating we came home and it was time to get ready for bed as I'm exhausted from lack of sleeping good the past few nights.

Rain and down in the back!
Ughhh .. 4 AM Monday and I up with a aching back! It started raining some time during the night and now the rain has my back in fits! I tossed and turned and finally i knew i was just gonna have to get up and take some pain med’s before i would be getting any more sleep. It’s 6.15 AM and I'm still waiting on them to kick in and knock me out.
I love to hear the sound of rain hitting the roof but my back sure doesn’t like the rain. Ughhh I’m counting the days until i see my precious jewels (Grands).
I finally got back to sleep around 6.30 AM and was back up by 8.30 AM. It’s rained most of the morning. I spent my day resting a very aching back. The rain stopped later in the afternoon and the temps were in the 60’s. Although we are suppose to be getting a cold spell.
Tuesday .. During the night it poured and it’s still raining this morning. It appears to be here for a bit, when i got up this am it was 65 degrees!
Later in the afternoon the ran finally cleared out and so we took a trip to Lowe’s to get some wooden pegs. Hubby had to fix the trim i broke several days ago by me. He put some wood screws and then the pegs to hide the screws. Hopefully i won’t break it again. While he was at he did all 3 slide outs to match and the screws are much stronger holding for the trim.
On our way home we noticed diesel prices have jumped to $3.79! In 3 days prices have jumped 15 cents .. crazy.
I really haven’t been doing anything except resting my aching back as it does not like all of this rain. Tomorrow their predicting a high of 50 for the next few days .. can you say brrrrrr My back probably isn’t going to let up until the sun and warmer weather gets back here. After a few cold days then the 60’s are suppose to return .. I'm praying for warmer weather until after Thanksgiving.
