Ready to Roll

Ughh  I woke up at 5 AM this morning with my back hurting.  Around 5.30 AM a light rain started but didn’t last long.  I went back to bed around 6 Am and slept until around 8.30 AM.

We are heading to Missouri tomorrow.  I was happy to see the rain was gone and it the sun is even trying to peek out.  Please please sun come out and stay so Pennie can go out and play.

It was a busy day of getting all the last minute things done to roll out in the morning.  It’s been a beautiful day for getting everything we need done.  I did my morning rounds as the camp host and of course that involved visiting.

Washing of the truck and camper.  While washing the camper the fenders on our camper were loose so a trip to town to get new screws.  Now their secure and some needed caulking was done.  My internet/cell phone antenna was taken down.  After dinner we got our showers out of the way and the last of my laundry was finished so now the sewer and water are unhooked.  The cabinets and everything else inside is secured and ready to roll.

All that needs to be done is the morning is pack my computer, unhook the satellite and electric, bring the sides in and hook up.

Warm weather has Arrived

I got up early and scrubbed my kitchen and bathroom floors as they needed it.  I wanted to make sure the rain was done before i did it. It’s another beautiful day and I am enjoying having my windows open and letting some nice fresh air in.  I don’t know about anyone else but after being shut up after awhile our home gets stale smelling and smells so good when i can open the windows and let our home air out.  There is a nice warm breeze.

I had 2 new birds at my feeder this morning.  They were enjoying what i had to offer.

I have been working on getting things moved and into their rolling positions.  It takes me longer then most people to get ready to roll as with my disability i have to work a bit and then rest. I also spent a bit of the day trying to catch up on other blogs i enjoy following.  I have been neglecting them this week.

After lunch it was on to running errands of trying to get the housing fixed again, picking up some last minute things we need before we head out on Sunday.  Sunday is our target day of hitting the road.  Of course that is weather permitting because the rain is suppose to move back in later tonight and rain all through next week.

When we got home hubby went to work on trying to once again fix my washer.  I emailed Splendid and i haven’t heard anything back from them.  I have the feeling the reason being is they have no answer for what I'm suppose to do.  I’m praying my Mr. Fix it has come up with something.  I have a load going now and only time will tell.

This afternoon the sun has left and it’s clouding up like rain could set in .. we had lots to get done outside to get ready to roll.  Put the awning in, pick up the outside rug.  We took my table and chairs and a few other things to my friend Wanda’s campsite to store until we return sometime later in July.  I put my feeders away ( i wanted to wait until sometime tomorrow as i hate taking my birds feeder from the birds, but i was afraid of the rain so i went ahead and took them down)  Our neighbors Ed and Barb are suppose to be in Monday or Tuesday and Barb will put out her feeders when she gets here so they will be feed soon.

Gabe came and got the 4 wheeler and so all that is left to do tomorrow is the last minute things.  It’s almost 10 PM and I'm hitting the shower and off to bed.

Looking at new homes

Today was another day of working inside getting things packed up and ready to roll.  It’s amazing how much stuff you get out when you stay more then a week or so in one place.

I also had to do a bit of my volunteer job here as camphost.  I had to check in a few campers, get menu’s for the weekend delivered.

My parts came in for my washer and hubby got it put back together and it worked great on the first load.  But .. the second load only made it to the rinse spin cycle before the welds broke.  Grrr i am so furious with that thing!  I love it and really miss not having it and my laundry is piling up and needs done.  So tomorrow hubby is going to have to find another way to fix it because we can not order a new housing for it.  Splendid is suppose to be the best brand on the market but why don’t they make new housing parts for their washer/dryer units?

In the afternoon Cora and I ran to Litchfield to look at the new park models they have in.  Here is the Retreat made by Keystone.  The width on these are 8’ 6” which is 6” wider then a normal 5th wheel without the slide out.  They are very spacious and roomy.
Retreat
The living room has a sliding glass door which i thought was neat. The one on the lot had the recliner and table reversed.
Retreat 2
If you were using this for like a weekend get away and leaving the unit stationary it would be great.  But …. for living in it for long periods of time I wasn’t impressed with them as they have hardly no storage inside.  The closet is very small (about the size my husband has in our unit) and the dresser had like 6 small drawers.  It had 3 very narrow cabinets over the bed.  The only outside storage is under the bed.  My opinion as for living in it for several months at a time in this unit is not a good option.

I also looked at the new Alpine’s that have replaced the Everest.  I wasn’t impressed with their Cherry wood and unfortunately that is the only thing they come in, i even asked if you could order the lighter wood and they said no.
Alpine3
I did love this kitchen floor plan.  You can get to the refrigerator when the slides are in and it had the 4 doors.  There is a down fall to this kitchen floor plan and that is where the stove and sink is.  It’s much more narrow then ours and only one person can be in it at a time.
Alpine 25
I wasn’t crazy about the entertainment center in the side.  We really enjoy ours in the back of the rig.
Alpine 4-a
I fell in love with the new bedroom wardrobe.  It has a cedar lining and a walk in closet.  the double doors is for the stackable washer/dryer.  I love the wood doors and they have metal latches and the plastic ones that break.  Although i have to admit there is less walk room between the bed and the dresser then our unit.
 Alpine 24
I have to admit that i still prefer my Everest over the new Alpine’s because of many factors.  Our living room, kitchen and bedroom are more spacious then the Alpine.  I love my maple wood, I wasn’t crazy about the head board.

After seeing the Alpine i have decided what i would like the best is If could have the larger refrigerator and the bedroom wardrobe in my Everest i would be so happy.  I did enjoy looking with Cora but … I have decided that I’m still very happy with my home and no plans to change it in the future.
Alpine 36
I have been looking at quilt patterns online and going through some books trying to find a pattern as i need to make a new quilt for our bed.  Ours we use is very old and I have repaired it for the last time.  There is just nothing left to repair, the material is so see through.

Rain has left and the Sun is trying to come out

The rain has finally left and the sun is finally trying to come out. The weather man says the rain is suppose to be gone for a few days but it is in the forecast to return soon.

I don’t really have anything to blog about today. I have spent my entire day cleaning up my messy camper from the weekend of kids. Later in the evening we played cards with friends Georgia, Cliff, Harold and Doris.

A Chilly Day

It was a morning of up early to go get the grandson for the day.  We spent the morning playing inside as it was a brrrr morning.  Once the sun kept peeking out it warmed up to the mid 50’s which i still classified as COLD.

After lunch Tobster wanted to play outside on his bike so Grandma braved the cold and went outside with him.
100_5553
We played outside for about an hour and then Grandma had to go inside to get warm.

After a bit of playing the Tobster fell asleep in the chair and Grandma moved him to the couch.

This pretty bird showed up at my feeder and he wasn’t happy
100_5557 100_5558
The bird couldn’t figure out how to get down where seed was at and he peeked at the plastic and the pic below shows it yelling at the feeder.
100_5559
I enjoyed watching the bird finally it gave up and flew off
100_5561
The hummingbirds were glad that bird was gone as he kept chasing them off by flying on their feeders.  I have 2 different hummingbirds
100_5562
One has a white neck and the other has a red stripe around it’s neck
100_5566
We took the Tobster home around 5 PM and then we came home and made an  egg sandwich for dinner.
The rest of our evening was spent watching TV and enjoying the peace and quiet.  We disscussed when we are leaving here and have tossed around heading to Missouri (to our membership park) sometime next week but we need to get there early enough to get a decent spot with a holiday weekend coming up.  We even discussed heading out Sunday.  Right now departure is still in the air.  We’ll have to see what happens.

Where is the beautiful Spring

Brrr I woke up to a cold morning .. geeze what happened to a beautiful spring?  It seems all i do lately is complain about the weather … grrrr  It’s either raining or cold .. what is with the North and not having Spring anymore?  It is either raining, too cold, or 90 degrees .  I remember Spring being beautiful with temps in the mid 70’s to low 80’s and beautiful???

When i left to go do my volunteer duty this morning the kids were just getting up.  I did get up in time to get my dishes done.

Later in the day a trip to Litchfield to see about getting something to fix the housing for my washer.  I called the company and they can no longer get a new housing so the old one must be welded or something.  I did get the 2 new gaskets ordered that go on the bottom.

Dinner tonight was McDonald’s as i wasn’t in the mood to cook.  The evening was spent inside watching tv and surfing the internet for quilt patters.  I need to make a quilt for my bed.  It’s cold

Will this Day End

Spending time with the grand kids is always fun but it has rained all weekend and being cooped up inside is not much fun.  Although the kids had fun playing in our bedroom.
100_5547
We spent some time watching the birds come and go from the feeders.100_5549
It has rained all day long and night long and it doesn’t appear to be an end in site.  We are flooded again.  Hubby looked at my washer later today and it’s not good.  The plate holding the housing in place broke and caused this mess.
  100_5551
So once again i am without a washer/dryer .. ughhh I'm not a happy camper esp with the rain setting in for several days in a row.

Gabe and Kelsey showed up around 7 pm to spend the night .. hubby isn’t a happy camper as he wanted a Sunday night to himself.  I went down to visit Wanda and watch her work on a quilt she is making while the kids went fishing in the rain.

When i got home the wind had pulled the stakes out of the ground and the awning was flapping .. ughh  i tried to fix it but I'm just not strong enough so Gabe came and helped me get it fixed.  It’s nice having the awning out when it rains but wind is not good on them.  Finally i got to take my shower and get ready for bed.

Oh What a Day it has been.  Have you ever had days where you thought they would never end?  Well for me this is one of those days.  It’s been a long weekend and have I mentioned that I’m sick of rain?
