Magic in Christmas Lights

After the parade we headed to Airport Blvd and had a late lunch/early dinner at Applebee’s. Then we headed to Theodore, AL. As you know i love Christmas lights and so i searched online and found that Bellingrath Garden and Home has a great display.

Here is the Link for anyone who is interested … http://www.bellingrath.org/mcil.html

Wow did i make a mistake, I didn’t pre-order tickets online as I read you could get them at the gate. What a mistake! Yes .. this is the line to get in …

100_4031

I think they call the stuff on the trees Spanish moss.

100_4038

The gift shop line was pretty good .. sure wish the garden line was.

100_4034

100_4042 100_4043

Were getting closer to the entrance

100_4044

Finally we paid the entrance fee and were heading through the garden.

This poinsettia tree was huge. It was pots of poinsettia's made into a tree.

100_4060

These pictures do not do these lights justice. They were blue and silver lights that looked like a water fall. They were beautiful.

100_4063

I had to snap a picture of the guys under the water fall. Of course hubby turned as i was taking the picture.

Next were the snowflakes.

100_4080 100_4082 100_4083

They have fish too 100_4084

The back of the home

100_4085 100_4086

I love the swans out on the lake

100_4089

they even had a underwater display with all the creatures that live in the Ocean.

100_4091 100_4092 100_4093 100_4096

This water fountain was in the lake also .. it was beautiful out there.

The camel and sheep were on each side of this …

100_4120 100_4122 100_4123

The nativity scene was absolutly beautiful and this picture doesn’t do it justice.

100_4124

At the end of the tour they had either a Chinese or Japanese scene and it was pretty neat.

It was a great day but a long one. We didn’t get home until almost 10.30 pm. The Magic Christmas was great but lots of walking.

Christmas Dinner

Today was a bit on the nippy side. I spent my morning visiting with the ladies and then i need to get last night dinner dishes done and mix oatmeal cookies up so they could chill for Sunday.

The Rver’s were invited out to dinner with several of the church members for their Christmas Dinner at the all you can eat catfish place.

Oh What a Beautiful Day

We woke to warm temps and a beautiful day today. I spent most of my day outside enjoying the 70+ temps.

Dinner tonight was ham steak, fried potatoes and milk gravy.

It’s finally warmer

It was a bit of a ruff night for hubby and therefore it was for me too. He suffered with a migraine headache all day and night long. Well i guess you can imagine what happened this morning ….

Yep .. around 7.30 am i came out my sleep to a tumping noise and then the sound of hubby hurling. Apparently he had gotten up and was trying to get upstairs to the bathroom. He is like an explosion when he vomits it goes everywhere!

After he finished i got up and cleaned up the mess. It’s not a pretty site and nothing is spared. Since i was awake i decided I might as well stay up. Needless to say the dogs were not happy to have to get up that early. In fact Lucy didn’t get up .. she is still in bed.

One good thing is i awoke to a somewhat warm morning compared to the past several days. weather bug

The dogs were even happy when i put them out to go potty. Not sure what my day is going to consist of. I’m planning to at least get outside this afternoon and enjoy the warmth and sunshine!

The temps warmed up enough for me to venture outside and take pictures of the project progress.

Not sure what this is but it sure is big and can move lots of heavy things. Randall is driving it.

100_3855

It’s really looking good and the roof has all the sheeting and almost all the felt stuff that will prevent leakage until the final part of the roof is done.

100_3856

The upstairs room now has the door and windows framed in.

100_3860

This is Jarrod he is one of the youth from church who is helping work on the project.

100_3861

Not sure if this is an argument or a thinking session.

100_3862

I spent my afternoon soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the warmer temps.

Tonight was our weekly potluck dinner in the church fellowship hall. As always it was a wonderful meal and church service was awesome.

The weather outside is frightful

Oh the weather outside is frightful and it’s not inviting. We woke to record breaking temps! Don’t let it snow .. don’t let it snow.

We had both electric heaters going and the furnace did come on a few times as well. But we stayed nice and warm inside our comfy home. It was 72 degrees when we got up. I was worried with our home being much larger and all the slide outs that during severe cold weather it wouldn’t stay warm. I was concerned with the water freezing or worse our pipes. We left the bathroom faucet on with a small stream. Our new passed the test with flying colors. Ms. Southwind didn’t have slide outs and so she was easy to keep warm and last winter i knew that several RVer’s put in their slides to keep warm and their pipes froze up.

The sun came out after lunch so a needed trip to Wal-mart was on the agenda. Running out of toilet paper and dog food is not a good thing.

Tonight’s dinner was cubed steak, california blend veggies and mac and cheese.

Tonight is suppose to get to around 28 and then tomorrow the 60’s and Thursday they are talking 70’s again!

Windy & Cold

Brrr .. we woke to a cold morning. The wind is blowing and it’s nippy outside. Right now at 2 pm my weather bug says 41! Although my niece just said back in Illinois it’s like 8 degrees so i will take the 41. The sun is shining but with the wind it’s still pretty cool. Were suppose to get a hard freeze but hopefully warmth is coming back.

Today was spent inside the warmth of my comfy home. It was too cold to outside.

For dinner i made chicken stir fry and the rest of the evening was spent inside the warmth of home.

They are predicting record breaking temps for tonight .. brrrrr

Happy Birthday Tyson

Happy Birthday Tyson. Tyson is 27! Wow, it’s hard to believe. I called and talked to him. Today was a beautiful day. The sun came out and it was in the high 60’s. I spent the afternoon sitting outside and enjoying the weather.

After dinner I helped make fruit baskets. The kids finished their Christmas program practice and then it was time to load up on the wagon for Christmas caroling.

We had a wagon full and we had a great time and then the rain came down so we headed back to the church. Once I got home i got some dry clothes on and spent the rest of my evening enjoying my Christmas lights and the warmth of my comfy home.
