Vicksburg, MS continued …

It was another beautiful sunshine day here in Ajo, AZ.  The temps have been in the mid 70’s!  This is how I am suppose to be spending my winter.  Basking in the warmth not only because I prefer warmth but also because of my health.  This cold winter has been hard on me and it has reminded me why we can not be our family during winter.  It hasn’t been as cold here as it is in Illinois right now but my body sure knows it’s been too cold for it.  The cold stiffens up my bones and joints causes me to have more muscle spasms and makes my pain so much worse.  I have to remind myself that I have to keep moving when all I want to do when it’s cold is hibernate to my bed on heating pads.  I have to admit I am not walking near as good as I was when I returned home last spring.  This winter has taken a toll on me but I’m praying the warmth is here to stay and I will start improving.  I think hubby is a bit concerned about me.  I’m very wobbly on my feet, but so far I’ve like the weeble wobble but  haven’t fallen down.

It’s always great when I can open the windows and door and enjoy sitting outside in my lounger relaxing and reading a good romance book. I took the dogs on a nice walk, walked over to the Dollar General store and spent my day enjoying the outdoors.  Since hubby spent the day working and I spent the day doing what I love best .. outside lounging in my recliner reading my romance book and relaxing.   Since I do not have anything exciting from my day today I’m going to continue the last post on our trip to Vicksburg, MS (No history lesson today)

After a wonderful tour of the Military Park we were all hungry so we went down to the River front and had lunch at Rusty’s

Diane and I both had the Hawaiian chicken sandwich (I ordered onion rigs with mine) , hubby had his usual .. Yep a  hamburger and fries.  Tommy ordered the day’s special Shrimp poorboy.  The food was excellent and more then I could eat, so Diane and I both brought half our sandwich home.  If you are ever in the area, you have to stop by Rusty’s, it’s not that expensive and the food is great!

After we ate too much we headed to look around at some of the old buildings.  I love looking at old houses and church’s.

since it was too cold (but the rain finally stopped) we just drove around and didn’t get out and walk around.  We then found a street that had a long line of murals!  Yep another one of my favorite things do .. I love murals

I love markers that give some history as well ..before we knew the day was gone and there is so much more that I’d love to go back and see.  Vicksburg, Ms is definitely on my return list.  It was a great day even though the weather was miserable.

Back to today .. Hubby came in and showered and we ran to the store to get a few things I missed that were on sale, plus I had forgotten to lay anything out for dinner.  We picked up some pork steak that were on sale and I cooked them up with some baked potatoes and dinner was served.  We took the dogs on a nice long walk enjoying a beautiful evening.  Around 7 PM, I wasn’t feeling to well and took a hot shower but I think the dogs pulled on me too hard today on one of our walks and pulled a muscle in my shoulder.  Plus I was aching all over, cold chills and my back was screaming.  I took some medication and was in bed by 8 PM .. that is why I am typing this post at 3.30 in the morning.  I woke up around 2 PM and can’t go back to sleep.  I feel better now but my shoulder still hurts.
